Rising Stars: Meet Blake Stowe of South Austin

Today we’d like to introduce you to Blake Stowe.

Hi Blake, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I began in 2014 in the TV commercial production industry in the Austin, TX, market as an entry level production assistant, keeping my eyes and ears open to industry standards, practices, and etiquette, while watching and learning how all the departments work together and independently through the stages of prep, shoot, and wrap.

Over the years I advanced to the role of assistant director, whose main responsibility was to run a harmonious and safe set and to organize the capture all the footage needed for the director, client, and agency. Fast forward ten years, and it was time to plan for a family, and we had a beautiful baby girl. I needed more control over my schedule and initiated a five-year plan to cross over to providing business-to-business video services directly to clients.

I provide the same professional approach as multimillion-dollar productions, but on a smaller scale. Every client has different pain points, goals, budgets, and deliverable needs, which we help define through our discovery stage to determine where video can provide solutions. Once those are established, we craft a content service plan. After the plan is agreed upon we schedule the shoot. Then we go into the editing and finally delivery of content. We focus on these video types: video business cards, testimonials, FAQs, process videos, and short-form content.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I know we will deliver an amazing product, but finding new clients is the primary challenge right now. We’re committed to long-term success, so I’m confident we will find our footing and carve out a place in the Austin market. Word of mouth and repeat clients are the paths I’m pursuing to attract new business. One job can lead to many opportunities, and at ADManATX, we will always look ahead, solve problems, and stay focused on overcoming this challenge.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My business combines the tools and approach of nuts-and-bolts logistics, technical equipment, and organization and scheduling to deliver a creative product focused on solving pain points and achieving measurable growth goals, such as click-throughs, website visits, sales conversions, and online engagement, for clients. This blend of creativity and logic reflects both sides of the brain, where my strengths fully shine. Few things surpass the satisfaction I feel when we can showcase the product in a creative way rather than merely describing it.

What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was interested in tinkering in the garage with bikes, skates, and street luges, learning how things worked by taking them apart. In the fourth grade, I wrote a paper titled ‘I’m Going to Be a Stuntman.’ We played in creeks and enjoyed an amazing neighborhood friend group, playing capture the flag and kick the can until well past dark. We jumped bikes, played roller hockey, tested parachutes, and filmed everything with a VHS camera. I’ve always had a good sense of humor, respect for teachers, curiosity for the cosmos, and an affinity for God.
