Rising Stars: Meet Eyeno Ethio

Today we’d like to introduce you to Eyeno Ethio.

Eyeno, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Eyeno Ethio started his musical journey as an infant, I can recall back to elementary I was big into poetry; I had sang the national anthem I also participated in a play as a rapper and got to rap in front of a crowd that was my first time performing. Going into my teenage years, I would write music and contemplate on how I could benefit to the Austin Music scene, growing up in Austin Tx as a creative always sparked my interests. I looked forward to being a mogul and offering ways to build within this community. Through my early adulthood, I’ve performed live and in the recent year, I’ve been hosting a podcast called LIVE at The Dox, where I review a lot of artist’s music. It really spiked when I realized it was snowing on the week of my birthday in February and I was in a hotel broadcasting on Instagram live during the snowpocalypse. From that point, we had an event at empire and from there on, I continued doing shows every last Thursday at flamingo cantina. In conclusion, I’m pretty excited in my life with how it’s turning out it has its ups and downs during the pandemic, I’m just looking to staying consistent and building the brand and company I am a part of which is Paradox Productions.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It wasn’t smooth in the beginning. I started pursuing my passions early on, I was looking for opportunities in the wrong environments and around the wrong people, years in I would grow to understand that it’s important who you’re surrounded around. In my situation, I looked to be a professional musician and perform, no one in my family or friend I grew up with could lead me in the right direction so taking it upon myself, I would do a lot of the leg work and network to meet the groups of individuals I’ve grown with. It was necessary to be put through trial and error and broken promises as a musician that I’m sure plenty can relate too. In the past year, I’ve definitely seen less struggles and more smooth sailing this past year and a half.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I would say I’m most known for my appearance, I’ve grown to see that a lot of people recognize me before they actually know what I do and than follow up and question what I do and I let them know I’m a musician who runs a small art gallery downtown and I curate live music events. I am most proud of my creativity. It’s gotten me to where I’m at, my specialty is making music; I just enjoy the process and emotion you get to put behind it. What sets me apart is I’m an optimist. I don’t think outside the box I’m a paradox so I like to say I “think outside the dox”.

What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
My important lesson was to enjoy yourself and to remind myself I’m still young and a great saying I stick to saying is that “Rome wasn’t built in one day”.
