Rising Stars: Meet Hunter Bentley

Today we’d like to introduce you to Hunter Bentley.

Hi Hunter, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I first got started into the social media filming world when I worked with a famous Weiner, David Lopez who was my friend and I asked him if he needed extras for vine/YouTube/ etc. that he was making. I came to a point in time where I actually was hired by him to not just be extras but to help set up scenes and be his “go to guy” at times. And while working under David, i.e., watched as he directed and filmed his videos and I had that start in the back of my mind, not thinking much of it not thinking I was gonna use it for anything personal. Eventually, when Tiktok came around, I download it as a joke since there was a lot of trash talk about Tiktok at the time, but eventually I found some funny content that I enjoyed watching on TikTok and I came a point when I was working as an Amazon delivery driver during when protests and riots were at an all-time high that I had an idea to film a TikTok where I would act out and dress up as the characters in stand-up comedians bits and lip-synch over their voice. My first TickTock that I remember call “blowing up” was a comedy bits by Brian Regan called pop tarts, when I saw that TikTok do very well, it clicked in my mind and said to myself “I found my niche“ and then after I would get off work I would come back home and film more of those types of TikToks.

Eventually, the creator‘s phone came out for TikTok after about 2 to 3 months when I started to show me those types of videos that I put my two weeks in at my job and began starting doing being a social media influencer full-time.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It was smooth at first, but then when trends started to die and algorithms were starting to change on TikTok and the creators fund wasn’t enough money to live off, and other TikTok or us were starting to do the same type of tick-tock‘s that I was known for, that’s when things started to get stressful and hard and trying to create creative content I would do well on TikTok started to become difficult.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I said I would specialize in In facial expressions when creating TikToks, I have a controlled lazy guy that I use in almost all my TickTock‘s that I believe grab people’s attention that may people say ”what the hell”? I am known for my different characters. I dress up for certain comedy bits; One TickTock that a lot of people know me for is the John Mulaney comedy bit about being “ over on the bench“ where sun comes home and tells about his day at school when our friend named Tyler got knocked over on the seesaw, and his father replies with “so what did you do? “And the sun replies over and over again “I was over on the bench”. What I am most proud of is that I was able to find something about myself; facial expressions, the skills and talents I can do with my eyes, and discovering a creative ideas to bring to life stand comedy bits, and it makes me very proud and happy when I see people laugh at the content I put on TikTok.

I think what sets me apart from everyone else is my personality and how I’m able to take real life situations and or sarcastic situations and put it on camera where people can get the full contacts of a great joke, and having the unique ability to use my eyes just gives it that extra “umff” to really bring it life.

Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
I’m a very down to earth guy. I love talking with anybody and everybody, and I’m very approachable so if you see me out in the public don’t be afraid to say hi or what’s up to me. I will have a down to earth genuine conversation with you. And anytime I get a DM on Instagram I try to answer it (as long as it is not a scam) because I want my fans to know that they are not just another “random fan” but there someone special and unique like me, and worth talking to. As well as I am a Bible believing Christian, I consider myself a disciple of Christ and live a Bible centered lifestyle, I attend church on Sundays and as well as Young adults groups during the week, I like to send it myself around Christlike people. Prior to my success on TikTok and social media, I was a missionary for my local church, I have traveled to different parts of Mexico, Ireland, England, and Papa New Guinea, and Peru just read the gospel Jesus Christ and what he did on the cross to save us.

And as my name implies, I am in fact an actual DJ, my stage name is DJ Hunts and I enjoy djing and mixing house music and dubstep, I have played many festivals different shows around San Diego, Mexico, Hawaii, and do you want to break into the club scene in my city, San Diego, and do eventually want to produce music of my own
