Rising Stars: Meet Isabella Rush

Today we’d like to introduce you to Isabella Rush.

Hi Isabella, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I started modeling with an organization called Embrace within UTSA but because of COVID, it was shut down. Then, I read an article looking for fresh faces. I tried out for it and was picked to walk the runway for the first show in San Antonio during TX Fashion Week. After that, photographers and boutiques started reaching out to me to model for them. I have been in different boutique websites and have been published in a magazine. I got to where I am today by promoting myself and posting pictures on IG and tagging the photographers, the boutiques, and the make-up artists. Since then, I have walked different runways in San Antonio and Austin. I have worked with photographers in San Antonio, Austin, and Atlanta. I have also worked with photographers who have come into town from Florida, Ohio, and Arizona. Eventually, my goal is to do commercial modeling and model for companies like Skims, Fenty, Nike, and all other great companies and designers.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not been a smooth road trying to find a talent agency. Sometimes it’s still a struggle to find make-up artists and/or hairstylists who can work with women of color. Another struggle along the way is trying to find designers who want to work with women who are curvy and not pencil-thin.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I do some work for boutiques by modeling their clothes. They advertise on their websites and I advertise on IG. I am known by photographers and designers as being professional and timely. I am most proud of the fact that I was published in a magazine and I am able to put my shyness to the side in order to model. My confidence, genuine personality, and fierceness set me apart from others.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
In the next 5-10 years I see myself doing commercial and editorial modeling, making my dreams become my reality.
