Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasmine Pulido.
Hi Jasmine, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My name is Jasmine Pulido. I’m an emerging Cosmetic Tattoo Artist from California specializing in Ombré Powder Brows. Since I was little, I have a passion for art and entrepreneurship. I took art classes in school and eventually became a vendor at local art events in California. Art was my full-time hustle. I was creating and selling original paintings, prints, and taking custom commissions.
I discovered Cosmetic Tattooing in the midst of 2020, and I really gravitated toward it. My dream was to become a tattoo artist, and this was a step toward that reality. I took a training course with a local Brow Artist in California and became a certified PMU artist. Shortly after, I had the opportunity to work in a Cosmetic Tattoo Studio, and I jumped right in. I was a full-time brow artist. I worked there for about 6 months until I had an opportunity to move to ATX. I picked up everything and moved my business from Central California to Austin, Texas. I’m currently working hard to rebuild a clientele in Austin now.
I’m excited to share my new business name and identity, Earth Tone Ink. I’m looking forward to my journey as I transition, learn, and evolve my brow business and myself as an artist. I can’t wait to become a part of the ATX community and help elevate the people around me through my services.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Coming from a small town and moving to a big city holds many challenges. I am currently facing the challenge of getting my name out there. Since I’m new to this city, people don’t know Earth Tone Ink yet, and I’m working every day to put myself out there and into the community in order to provide my services and be able to make this a full-time, thriving business.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My title: Cosmetic Tattoo Artist
Specialties: Ombré Powder Brows and Custom Brow Shaping
What sets me apart from others in this industry is the love and consideration I put into my work. I’m tattooing people’s faces for a living and it’s a huge responsibility that I don’t take lightly. I pride myself on going above and beyond when it comes to the clients’ experience with me and my services. I always ensure my clients are completely comfortable and walk them through the entire process. We have fun and have great conversations here too. My workspace is warm, inviting, tranquil, and comfortable for each person who sits in my chair. I really care about the experience my clients will have from the moment they book to their end result. My services make an impact on the self-confidence in people, and they deserve an artist with care, passion, and love for what they do.
Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
When I’m practicing on my practice pads, I love to play Kendrick Lamar and Jhene Aiko. I love listening to honest and real artists while I work; it creates a positive and motivating mindset for myself.
