Today we’d like to introduce you to Lauren Cross
Hi Lauren, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I was previously an entrepreneur owning a small business. I sold my business and found myself being a full time stay at home mom in the middle of a pandemic. My mental health plummeted and I was dealing with severe postpartum anxiety. I decided instead of letting it take over I started sharing about it online to help create a community of mothers who may be going through something similar not feel so alone.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Throughout my time creating transparent content, I have been met with a lot of negativity online specifically geared towards my body positivity content for mothers. People online are ugly to women especially in the postpartum phase. You have to have tall confidence to not take it personally
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Creating is my passion, I live to brainstorm and create content for myself and others that is meaningful. My content is special because I try to maintain a relatability to others on topics that aren’t discussed often (motherhood and pregnancy/postpartum topics). But I also create quite a bit of UGC content for others, and while the topics I am working on for them may not always be my passion, brainstorming and seeing others enjoy the creativity I bring to their brands is so encouraging!
How do you define success?
I wake up happy and grateful everyday, and to me thank is a sign of a successful life.
