Rising Stars: Meet Linda Ndlovu

Today we’d like to introduce you to Linda Ndlovu.

Hi Linda, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My story is kind of funny. I always thought I would end up as a photographer. When I was in high school, I took a video class and I loved editing and splicing things together. As I got older, I somehow switched from being behind the camera to in front of it, I love how you can make yourself into a different character and I also love to see how photographers edit the pictures of me according to their own creative style. Right now, Modeling is a hobby that I love and want to grow into something more, it is my creative outlet, but if I could make it to where I am modeling clothing for stores, or runways, music videos or anything media/fashion-related while making a small profit from it, I would be ecstatic!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Initially, when I jumped in front of the camera, I had to overcome my body insecurities. Right now, my main challenge is getting myself to try new styles of posing and wardrobe and also networking with other photographers can be hard since my schedule is a little crazy being a student and working.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
So in my personal life right now, I am working for a great private dental office as an RDA (Texas state registered dental assistant). I am a very hard worker, and this flows into my creative outlet. I like to keep going until the final product of what I am doing is near perfect, if not already.

Any big plans?
My plans for the future are to see if I can create a name for myself in the print, fashion, or media industry while of course finishing my degree in Dental Hygiene, it’s always good to have a backup plan.
