Today we’d like to introduce you to Mia Isabella.
Hi Mia, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I’ve been blessed to have such supportive parents throughout my entire life. Anything I’ve ever wanted to do or be, their response was always “Okay baby!” So from a young age, it was instilled in me that I can and will do everything I work hard at. Naturally, I tried everything and…quit everything (when the season ended.). If I started something, I knew I had to finish it. But, nothing stuck. I was having fun trying everything until something finally clicked for me. I’ve always been quite the performer. I’m an only child and my one woman shows were always a hit! I have never been shy in front of the camera. When I was 14, I decided to give pageants a try. It was a fun experience but I quickly realized that pageant life wasn’t for me. However, being on a stage, quick changes, taking pictures, and interacting with a crowd was absolutely for me. That pageant was the spark I needed to realize what I wanted to do was model! By 15, I started modeling for local boutiques and booking jobs on my own – including landing Los Angeles Fashion Week at age 16, cut to eight years later and I’ve been in more shoots and shows than I can count. In places all over Texas, California, New York, and Canada.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Ha! In the modeling industry? Never. That’s sarcasm with a touch of humor. You will need it in this industry, as well as a strong sense of self. If it’s not someone else judging your every quirk and flaw, it’s yourself. Thankfully, I haven’t had any experiences that challenged me in such a way that I was scared off from achieving my goals. The biggest challenge has and will always be myself. I can’t tell you how many opportunities and jobs I’ve missed because I convinced myself that I’m not enough.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Since beginning my career, even at just 14, I knew this was the industry meant for me. Once I started modeling, I found so many other things I love doing and knew I could no longer stick to just one thing. I’m proud of everything I do because I pour all of my love and effort into the work I continue to create with others and for myself. I’m a model, actor, creative director, talent scout, posing coach, manager, and now budding photographer. I think the answer is different for everyone about what I’m best known for, but I would like to believe when people tell me that I’m a hard worker and that I have a good heart.
How do you think about luck?
I don’t believe in luck or wishes. I believe in hard work and staying ready for the opportunities that are meant for me.
