Today we’d like to introduce you to Michael Beltran
Hi Michael, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My company, Flash Marketing Agency, began in 2021 in a small apartment bedroom in Austin, Texas. My Co-founder, Zac Perkins and I are longtime friends who always wanted to start a business together, like most young people plan with their friends. We always shared a love for social media, so diving into marketing and content creation made a lot of sense. Eventually, we got tired of talking about this idea and decided to dive in and give it a shot.
It wasn’t easy — we were young and inexperienced and have made a lot of mistakes. But we always got back up, learned, and moved forward. We truly believe a mindset full of tenacity and consistency was the key for us to get Flash off the ground.
We have been in business for three and a half years now and have a great team of creative minds with us. We feel like we’ve got the right people who share that same passion that Flash was born with, and that’s pretty cool to experience. Things aren’t perfect, but we continue to learn, innovate, and push our creative abilities to the brink! We are proud of how far we’ve come, but even more excited to keep growing and improving our craft, while getting to work alongside some of the best minds in social media.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Definitely not! We started this business at age 24, so we didn’t exactly have much experience. There’s a lot to learn about sales, finance, customer service, etc. And we unfortunately have had to learn a lot through trial and error. Of course, it WILL definitely take a toll on you mentally…it can be a lot.
It’s not always pretty, but we love it. There’s definitely something beautiful about the struggle that you have to appreciate in order to stay sane in this life lol.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
We specialize in social media content creation, strategy and management. Specifically, we are very good at creative content that is conducive to the social media algorithms, so the content we create generates high numbers of views and engagement. In simpler terms, we create virality through social media!
Our do-it-all-for-you approach really sets us apart. We handle all parts of the content creation in-house for our clients: We come up with the ideas –> we visit our client’s business in person to shoot all of the content –> our team does all of the editing and scheduling –> we manage the social media pages doing things like responding to comments or DM’s.
Our clients have no responsibility to come up with their own ideas or record any content themselves, just be on camera!
We’re the most proud of our understanding and ability to translate a complex topic into a consumable piece of content that performs well. We genuinely feel as though we are amongst the best in our industry in our understanding of social and our ability to generate quality, impactful content.
Plus it’s so cool to start working with a client on social and seeing their channels grow and open new opportunities for them.
What makes you happy?
Outside of the obvious answers (my wife and family contribute tremendously to my happiness), the thing that makes me happy is seeing our employees thrive both in their professional and personal lives.
Creating an environment that people want to work in was always a dream for our business, so seeing that come to life is something that makes me very happy.
It’s not perfect, but I care so much to be the kind of leader that leads by example, is understanding, and treats people with respect and consideration.
