Hi Valaria, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I began my beauty career journey at Regency Beauty Institute in 2011, where I discovered my passion for making a meaningful impact through transformation. For me, beauty has always been more than appearance—it’s about helping people feel confident, seen, and renewed. Getting to where I am today has required consistency, dedication, and a commitment to continuously refining my craft. Above all, my faith in Jesus Christ has guided every step of my journey, serving as the foundation and compass of my life and career. While the journey has included both rewarding and challenging moments, it has always been worthwhile. I often refer to it as “the beautiful struggle”—a process that has shaped not only my work, but who I am.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Viewing my journey through the lens of a single mother, this industry has given me the opportunity not only to invest in my own future, but also in my son’s life. The road has not been easy, but it has been the catalyst that shaped my purpose—allowing me to serve, provide, and show up fully as both a stylist and a mother. My experiences have deepened my commitment to the beauty industry and strengthened my desire to pour into people through my work.
What I value most as an artist is the satisfaction—the love—of watching clients leave my chair knowing they mattered. That connection, that feeling of being seen and cared for, is the experience I strive to create every day. It’s the reason I do what I do.

As a hair and makeup artist my work centers on providing clients with the healthiest and most intentional alternatives for their beauty needs. I’m known for taking an individualized approach rather than following a one-size-fits-all or textbook method. Education is a major part of what I do. I believe clients deserve to understand what’s best for them, not just what’s trending. I specialize in all aspects of beauty, with a particular passion for cultivating and maintaining healthy hair across all textures.
I approach every appointment with care and prayer, striving to give honest guidance about the best next step—or, more importantly, the best right-now step. I focus on what clients can see, feel, and do immediately to support their beauty journey in a way that feels realistic, informed, and empowering.
What I’m most proud of is my commitment to choosing what is healthiest for my clients while helping them feel confident and beautiful in the present moment. What sets me apart is my ability to meet people exactly where they are, offering advice that is thoughtful, compassionate, and rooted in genuine care for their well-being.
What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
The most important lesson I’ve learned as a stylist is to never give up. When one door closes, I choose to have faith that the next door will be greater than the last. This journey has taught me the importance of giving yourself time to reset, heal, and grow—without losing momentum. Through every season, perseverance has been key. Keep pushing, trust the process, and believe that what’s ahead is always preparing you for more.
