We’re looking forward to introducing you to Heather Cash. Check out our conversation below.
Good morning Heather, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What are you being called to do now, that you may have been afraid of before?
To be authentically me and to speak openly about what I know and believe in.
For years, I resisted showing up personally on social media for my business. I didn’t see myself as “the brand.” I believed I could simply let my work speak for itself, and I also didn’t want to open myself up to scrutiny or judgment. Privately, I’ve always been vocal about my frustrations with the aesthetics industry… the lack of regulations, standards, and respect, but I kept those conversations behind closed doors.
The truth is, I didn’t fully trust my instincts or intuition. Over the last year and a half, I learned a hard but necessary lesson while delegating too much and doubting my own leadership. While my business temporarily suffered, the experience gave me exactly what I needed: the clarity to finally step into the woman and leader I had been trying to become all along.
And the moment I did that, opportunities started showing up almost instantly, giving me the platform I’ve been waiting for to share my perspective from a place of authority, education, and vision (not as an online rant, but as a standard-bearer for positive change).
I now feel deeply called to dedicate the next two years to setting overdue standards in the aesthetics industry, bringing trust and transparency back to clients, and raising the level of respect this profession deserves.
I’m no longer hiding behind my work. I am the work. And it’s time to lead from that place.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Heather Cash, licensed esthetician and owner of Aggieland Aesthetics MedSpa in Bryan, Texas. I’ve been in the aesthetics industry for almost 14 years, and over that time I’ve built my brand around one simple but powerful belief: skin health comes first.
At Aggieland Aesthetics, clients don’t just get a treatment, they get me. My passion, education, and expertise are what set us apart. I’ve been honored to be voted Best in Business twice, Best Medspa in the Brazos Valley, and Best Laser Hair Removal in Bryan, featured as a “Hidden Gem” in Voyage Austin Magazine, and most recently recognized in the Texas Wellness Passport as one of the Top 100 Wellness Facilities/Medspas in Texas.
What makes my work unique is the level of care and transparency I bring to every client experience. I created The Skin Reset, a consultation + facial that every new client begins with because I believe in taking the time to understand the skin, educate the client, and build a real plan instead of rushing into high-ticket services.
Beyond my business, I feel called to be a voice for positive change in the aesthetics industry. Over the next two years, I’m committed to raising the standards of education, transparency, and professionalism, bringing the respect back to a field I’ve dedicated my career to long before it became “trendy.”
For me, this isn’t just a business. It’s my purpose, and I’m proud to be leading it with both passion and integrity.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
That I wasn’t enough.
I can’t pinpoint the exact moment it started, but for as long as I can remember I carried the belief that I was never quite enough. Never pretty enough, skinny enough, curvy enough, smart enough, nice enough, tough enough, soft enough, artistic enough, or articulate enough. In my mind, I was always falling short. For others, for myself, and for every situation.
At some point, though, I began to transmute that energy into self-growth. And now, at 39, I finally know the truth… I am enough. In fact, I am everything I was meant to be.
For most of my life, I watered myself down to fit into other people’s expectations or match their energy, when in reality, I was never meant to fit into those spaces at all. As a little girl, I always felt my life was meant to be big. I didn’t know exactly what that meant, but I knew I had a bigger purpose. Over time, I lost sight of that knowing and let experiences dim my light.
I struggled silently for years, even well into adulthood. But now I see clearly: showing up as 100% myself, authentically and unapologetically, is not just enough, it’s my purpose. By embracing that, I not only live more fully, but I also inspire others, sometimes even shifting a sad moment into a happy one, simply by being me.
When did you last change your mind about something important?
Just a few months ago actually.
I’ve spoken before about how I once delegated too much leadership within my business. I had this vision for the spa: instead of me being the face of it (which is what the business was built on), I wanted to train and build up other estheticians, teaching them what took me years to learn through study, mentors, hands-on experience, and life itself.
For about two years, I poured into that vision. I wouldn’t call it a failure, but what I realized is this: my brand is me. It’s my knowledge, my experience, my compassion, my empathy, and my commitment to education that clients come for. That’s what makes Aggieland Aesthetics different.
So, I made a pivot. And honestly, I think that’s what good business owners do. They adapt, they grow, and they realign when something isn’t working. For me, it wasn’t about going “backward” to where I started. It was about recognizing that leaning fully into who I am is actually the next level of growth.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
I actually phoned a friend for this one and honestly, their answer was simple, my business. It’s always at the forefront of my mind and always my first priority.
My business is the one thing that, when I pour into it, it always pours back into me. Growing up without consistent emotional or financial support, I had to figure out life largely on my own. How to process emotions, how to navigate relationships, how to survive. I learned early that I couldn’t really depend on anyone else. Either they weren’t able to be there for me, or not in the ways I truly needed.
When I started Aggieland Aesthetics, something shifted. For the first time in my life, I had a sense of security. Not only financial stability, but also the motivation to grow into a better version of myself. That company has been the catalyst for every positive change I’ve made over the last 10 years.
The people who knew me before I started my business will tell you the transformation is incredible. And it’s because my business has been my constant. Always there for me, as long as I continue to show up for it. It’s not just work to me; it’s been my anchor, my growth, and in so many ways, my healing.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: If you laid down your name, role, and possessions—what would remain?
Oof… that’s a scary thought. Trying to imagine myself without those things makes me feel exposed, almost naked. So much of my identity is tied to my business and the roles I carry, and I’ve found a lot of my self-worth there.
But if all of that was stripped away, what I believe would remain is a woman still learning, still unfolding, still discovering the deepest parts of her soul. It would feel vulnerable, yes, but also like a fresh start, almost a chance to connect with myself in a way I never have before.
