Tara Bianco on Life, Lessons & Legacy

Tara Bianco shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Tara, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
My wedding coming up 🙂

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, I’m Tara Bianco. I’m the founder of Simple Marketing & Media, where the biggest focus for me right now is growing the company and helping brands simplify the way they approach marketing. What makes my business unique is that when you work with Simple, you work directly with me. I touch every account and make sure strategy and execution align with the client’s goals, while also bringing in my team and trusted freelancers to enhance the work and deliver the best results.

I built Simple Marketing & Media around the idea that marketing doesn’t have to feel complicated or overwhelming — it can be straightforward, effective, and even enjoyable. I love partnering with clients to cut through the noise, focus on what matters, and create content that actually moves the needle.

Outside of work, I’m also an avid line dancer, which keeps me grounded and reminds me of the value of community, rhythm, and joy — the same qualities I try to bring into the way I work with clients.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
As a child, I believed that once you became an adult, you just knew what to do — like there was a moment where everything clicked and you had all the answers. What I’ve learned is that adulthood is really about constantly learning and growing. Some days feel easy, some feel really challenging, but there’s no finish line where you “figure it all out.” And honestly, I think that’s a good thing — it keeps life interesting and keeps us evolving.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I’d tell my younger self, “Don’t be afraid if your life doesn’t look the way you pictured it. You’re creating something beautiful and unique that’s meant just for you. Don’t waste time comparing yourself to others — your path is your own, and that’s what makes it special.”

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
One of the biggest lies in marketing is that there’s a single “right” way to do things — a formula, trend, or tactic that works for everyone. The truth is, just like every person is different, every business and brand is different too. What works brilliantly for one company might completely miss the mark for another. The real magic comes from experimenting, learning, and finding the approach that actually fits your business and resonates with your audience.

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. When do you feel most at peace?
I feel most at peace when I’ve prepped all my work and know I can fully step away — whether that’s for a vacation or just a weekend away. There’s something so freeing about trusting that my team and I have everything handled, so I can be present, relax, and actually enjoy the moment.
