Hi Morgan, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My days are filled with playful wags, walks, and belly rubs! In 2018, I was looking for a way to earn extra income. I found that everyone in my social circle asked me to watch their pets while on vacation. I loved it! As the years went on, I got more requests and learned I could make this a full-time job. In 2022, I decided to take my business, Walk Around Town ATX, to new heights. I have grown from a few friends asking a favor to regular clients every week, plus additional requests from non-regular clients! I feel so grateful that my clients trust me with their families and know I love their pets as my own for that moment while they are away.
We all face challenges, but would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
There are always struggles, big and small, but that comes with the territory. There is a solution to every problem. The bigger challenges I face include being the sole member of the company. I hit a client ceiling and need help everywhere to help everyone I’d like to assist. I am looking to hire in 2023 to get more help and gain more clients! I can’t wait to get more help. Minor issues I can face are typically weather-related. The pets need to be walked in the rain or shine, cold or hot.

My business is a pet service. I walk dogs, care for cats, and even make sure your birds feel loved while you cannot care for them. I love to send photos and videos and make fun reels/TikToks to share with the clients. I even facetime with a client, so she could see her cats while she was away. I will always ensure those animals feel loved and get all the attention they deserve until their parents return home. I am most proud that my clients trust me and that I contribute to their pet’s happiness. I love creating such a strong connection with the owners and the animals. I part of their family in a way. I celebrate the happy moments and emotionally support them when there are sad moments in their pets’ life.
The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you, and are any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
It’s important to be respectful of your clientele. I work with people of all ages. I am in their homes. They can be present at times. It would be best if you were vaccinated and safe so I don’t spread the virus to others.
