Today we’d like to introduce you to Johnnie Jackson.
Hi Johnnie, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Well, I started off working in tv where I was an account rep for add placement and videographer. Then I wind up doing radio promotions in Dallas, Texas for Cumulus.
After my move back to Houston, I started a marketing company called Under The Thumb Marketing. About a year after doing marketing, I got into club promotion. I began that full-time. Which lead leads where I am now. An up and coming radio host & music pr.
My show is call the vibe show based out of Houston on Grade A Radio. we are all about focusing on new talent around the world.
I interview various of Artis and cover major events through my show. I’ve been so blessed to have the vibe airing in Atlanta on 105.7 the phase here in the next few weeks.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has not always been a smooth road, let just say. I grew up the only child. The son of a well-known Houston Attorney. You would think. What can be smoother then that life right?
Let’s just say God placed some tough test in my life. But I’ve learned from it. It made me who I am today as I continue to grow.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I would consider myself a jack of all trades. I have multiple businesses. I have a Photo Booth and promotion Business. My main focus is radio where my skills and talent is. Putting on these events and shows through my radio broadcasting and promotion company bringing new talent to the screens and airwaves. I even began traveling searching for the good talent that’s out there.
What are your plans for the future?
Eventually, I would like to reside in Los Angeles, California owning my own station and expanding my network and business.
