An Inspired Chat with Andrew Martinez

Andrew Martinez shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Hi Andrew, thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
My first 90 minutes are about building a bridge between mindfulness and high-level strategy. It starts with hydration – 20 ounces of water I keep by my bed – followed immediately by a shower to wake up the system. Once I’m dressed, I eat a green apple and spend at least 10 minutes in prayer and meditation. This “quiet time” is non-negotiable; it keeps me centered before the busy day ahead.

Once I’m grounded, I brew a cup of dark roast coffee on my Keurig machine and jump into “The Command Center.” I review my agenda for the day and log into Marblism to check in with my AI agents. Treating my AI team like real colleagues – seeing what they’ve processed overnight – allows me to prioritize high-level tasks before I even head to my coworking space. It’s the perfect mix of spirituality and futuristic productivity.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Andrew Martinez, an AI-Powered Web Strategist, WordPress expert, and the founder of Powerful Digital Solutions. Since 2012, I’ve been helping coaches, consultants, and local service providers turn their websites from mere “online brochures” into income-producing assets.

What makes my approach unique is that I don’t lead with code; I lead with strategy. While many agencies focus on the technical ‘how,’ I focus on the ‘why.’ In a world where AI is rapidly changing how people find information, a website can’t just look pretty – it has to be found by Google and quoted by ChatGPT. This is why I focus on generative engine optimization (GEO) to ensure my clients stay visible in the age of AI. While most digital agencies focus on search engine optimization (SEO), I incorporate both SEO and GEO best practices for my clients.

I’m also a published author. In November 2024, I released my book, “From Idea to Blueprint,” to solve a major problem I kept seeing: many business owners would dive into website creation without a plan. This is like trying to build a home without making a blueprint first. The book is a practical guide for using AI to create a website blueprint before website building begins. It’s currently available in audio, Amazon Kindle, and paperback.

Because I value quality over quantity, I limit my team to a maximum of three client projects per month. This allows us to act as true partners rather than just service providers. Whether someone is using my TotalPower Web Success System for a full ‘Done-For-You’ experience, attending my ‘Website in a Day’ workshop, or following the “From Idea to Blueprint” methodology on their own, our goal is the same: to create a future-proof online presence that actually drives revenue.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
Growing up as a quiet, introverted kid in a middle-class family, I used to think that high-level entrepreneurship was a club I simply didn’t have the password to. I genuinely believed that major wealth and success were reserved for a ‘privileged few’ – people born with the right connections or a much louder personality than mine. Because I didn’t see myself in that group, I assumed my ceiling was a steady, middle-class life.

That belief was a cage I built for myself, and it took years of intentional growth to break out of it. Through a steady diet of books, podcasts, and, most importantly, investing in the right coaching and mentorship, I realized that success isn’t about ‘privilege’ – it’s about preparation.

I no longer believe in glass ceilings; I believe in blueprints. I’ve learned that with the right mindset and the right tools, the only real limits are the ones we stop challenging. This shift is exactly why I do what I do today: I want to give other business owners the clarity and strategy they need to thrive – especially by showing them how to work with AI rather than against it.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
In late 2023, I hit a moment of irony that almost ended my career as an entrepreneur. At the time, I was working part-time for a white-label agency, creating ‘dummy’ content for website templates – everything from bagel shops to painting contractors. When ChatGPT first went mainstream, the company showed me how to use it to speed up my workflow. But by the end of the year, they realized their in-house designers could use the AI to do what I was doing themselves.

I was effectively let go because of AI.

It was a painful realization. I remember sitting there thinking, ‘If AI can do this in seconds, is there even a place for me in this industry anymore?’ I felt like I was being phased out of my own passion. I seriously considered walking away from my business entirely and just looking for a ‘safe’ 9-to-5 job. I was discouraged and, honestly, a bit rattled.

But after the initial shock wore off, I realized the AI wasn’t the enemy – the commodity work was. AI could write placeholder text, but it couldn’t build the strategic bridge between a business owner’s vision and a high-performing asset. That was my turning point. Instead of viewing AI as a threat, I decided to master it. I stopped seeing it as a replacement and started viewing it as a ‘copilot’ and a team of digital colleagues. That low point was actually the spark that led me to write my book and revamp my website and entire business to help others navigate this new world.

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What truths are so foundational in your life that you rarely articulate them?
My business doesn’t exist in a vacuum. It’s built on a bedrock that I don’t often articulate in a standard discovery call, but it’s the ‘gravity’ that keeps my world spinning. There are five foundational truths that are so deeply ingrained in me that they’ve become my default setting for how I live and work:

First, my spiritual foundation: I believe that God exists, the Bible is true, and Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior. These aren’t just ‘beliefs’ to me – they are the lens through which I see everything. This foundation gives me the unwavering conviction that I have a specific mission and a purpose here on Earth.

Because of that sense of purpose, I approach every relationship – whether it’s with a family member or a new client – with the belief that I have a responsibility to contribute real, lasting value. If I didn’t believe in a higher calling, I might just be in this for a quick paycheck. But because these truths are my foundation, I am driven to act with integrity, to lead with strategy, and to serve others to the absolute best of my ability. These aren’t just my personal views; they are the ‘blueprint’ for my life.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. What light inside you have you been dimming?
For a long time, the light I’ve been dimming is my own sense of achievement.

Growing up, I was the ‘overachieving honors student’ – the math and science geek who was often the smartest person in the room. But I learned early on that my brightness made some people in my inner circle uncomfortable. I had a specific family dynamic where my success was met not with celebration, but with a quiet, biting envy. I remember being 20 years old in college and having a relative try to belittle my academic path by comparing it to my grandfather’s military service at the same age. The message was clear: Your wins don’t matter as much as you think they do.

To keep the peace, I developed a survival mechanism: I started dimming my light. I learned to shrink myself so others wouldn’t feel small.

Even now, as an author and an online business owner, I still catch myself doing it. When I close a $10,000 deal or plan a trip to celebrate a major milestone, my first instinct isn’t to share the news – it’s to hide it. I worry that if I shine too brightly, I’ll trigger that same secret jealousy I felt years ago.

But I’ve realized that you cannot build a legacy while you’re hiding. By dimming my light to make others comfortable, I’m actually doing a disservice to the people I’m meant to lead and inspire. My ‘overachiever’ roots and my business wins aren’t things to be apologized for; they are the proof that the blueprint works. I’m finally learning that it’s okay to be the smartest guy in the room – because that’s exactly what my clients and my mission need me to be.
