We’re looking forward to introducing you to Dr. Jessica Tranchina. Check out our conversation below.
Dr. Jessica, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What do you think is misunderstood about your business?
I love this question! Thank you for asking it. One of the biggest misconceptions about our business is that we only cater to athletes, and that couldn’t be further from the truth. While we do work with athletes, we serve people of all ages and backgrounds who simply want to feel their best.
Our clients come to us to reduce pain, increase energy, think more clearly, improve mobility, support longevity, flush the lymphatic system, and perform at a higher level both mentally and physically. Our science-backed recovery, fitness, and manual therapy protocols are designed to help people achieve exactly that, no matter their age, background, or fitness level.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Dr. Jess, co-founder of Generator Athlete Lab and founder of Experts in Wellness, where I specialize in resolving chronic pain and complex physical issues through advanced manual therapy. Both brands are rooted in the same mission: helping people feel better, move better, and perform at their best physically, mentally, and neurologically.
Generator Athlete Lab is located inside the historic 1954 Austin Power Plant and offers science-backed recovery and fitness protocols designed to support nervous system regulation, stress reduction, mobility, and longevity. While many assume we only work with athletes, we serve people of all ages and backgrounds who want less pain, more energy, clearer thinking, and sustainable performance. What makes our work unique is the combination of hands-on manual therapy, education, and immersive recovery experiences that empower people with real tools they can use long after they leave our space.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who taught you the most about work?
Much of what I know about hard work came from my dad. I watched him show up every day, put his head down, and do the work consistently and without shortcuts. He’s from Sicily and came to the United States, served in the Vietnam War, and built his businesses from the ground up through sheer grit, integrity, and persistence.
He taught me that success comes from a combination of hard work, strong relationships, kindness, and doing right by others. He lived by honesty, high integrity, and the belief that your word matters. He also instilled in me simple but powerful daily disciplines: wake up early, move your body, eat well, and tackle your hardest task first. His mindset was “eat the frog”: do the toughest thing in the morning, and the rest of the day will follow. Those lessons shaped not just how I work, but how I live.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Was there ever a time I wanted to give up? Heck yes. Building and running Generator Athlete Lab has been one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. I have three kids, and the stakes have always felt incredibly high. If this didn’t work, it would have been a huge loss, both personally and professionally.
I’ve questioned my choices more times than I can count. Even after more than eight years in business, there are still days it feels really hard especially when you don’t yet have the right people in the right seats. People are the trick. When you have the right team, everything becomes lighter and more aligned.
But yes, I’ve thought about giving up many times. And every time, I’ve chosen to get back up. You get knocked down, you get back up, and you keep going. If you truly believe in your dream, don’t quit. Keep showing up. It will work out—but only if you keep going.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
What my friends would say really matters to me is living with integrity, showing up fully for the people I love, and doing meaningful work that genuinely helps others feel better in their bodies and lives.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
I truly believe I’m doing what I was born to do. My work brings together everything that matters most to me: helping people heal, reducing pain, restoring movement, and giving them the tools to feel strong, clear, and capable in their lives. It’s where my skills, my curiosity, and my purpose intersect.
Whether through manual therapy, recovery, or education, I get to serve people in a way that creates real change. Seeing someone move better, feel better, and reclaim their quality of life is what drives me. That’s how I know I’m exactly where I’m meant to be.
