We recently had the chance to connect with Leigh Kubin and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Leigh, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
It began at work, but soon became part of my everyday life. I spend time with people who hold a wide range of beliefs, some very different from my own. Yet, as I listened to my clients, I noticed something beautiful: beneath the surface, we all share the same basic needs and the same hopes for our country. That realization gave me a renewed sense of hope in humanity.
From that spark, I created a 30-day experiment I call “The Connection Challenge”. I completed the challenge and later wrote a book about the experience. What I discovered is that when we truly talk with one another, we realize just how connected we already are, far more than the media often suggests.
This practice of connecting beyond the office has grown into a passion, one that has deeply changed me along the way.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am a Master Certified Hypnotherapy Practitioner and coach. I help people break free from the patterns, fears, and limiting beliefs that hold them back so they can live life with purpose, clarity, and confidence. What makes my work unique is that I combine hypnotherapy with mindset coaching, blending practical tools with deep inner work to create lasting transformation.
I’ve always been fascinated by what shapes our thoughts and behaviors, and I’m passionate about guiding people to shift those patterns in powerful ways. Whether it’s helping someone find freedom from old habits, build confidence, or step into their fullest potential, my focus is on lasting change, not quick fixes.
Right now, I’m working on expanding my practice through writing, workshops, and new programs that make this kind of transformation accessible to more people. My mission is simple: to help people realize they already hold the power to create the life they want.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
One of the moments that most shaped how I see the world came during one of the lowest points in my life. I had lost everything. Most of my family had disowned me, I had made choices I wasn’t proud of, and I found myself completely alone.
In that darkness, the only thing I could cling to was gratitude. I began noticing the roof over my head, the food in my pantry, and the photos that held memories of better days. And then something incredible happened: the more I leaned into gratitude, the more life began to meet me there. People began to show up. Opportunities appeared. Synchronicities unfolded.
That was the moment I realized the universe responds to us, that gratitude is not just a feeling, but a frequency. And the more I focused on it, the more my life began to align with what I truly wanted. That realization has shaped not only how I live, but also how I guide others in their own transformations.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
There was a season in my life when I almost gave up on who I truly was. I decided I just wanted to be “normal,” so I took a “normal” job and stayed there for ten years. From the outside, it looked steady and secure. But deep down, I knew I was made for something more.
Even while I tried to settle into that life, I couldn’t silence the part of me that craved growth, learning, and purpose. No matter how hard I tried to fit into the mold, my curiosity and drive kept pushing me forward.
What I discovered in that process is that I wasn’t built for “normal.” I was built for transformation, for living fully, for helping others step into their potential, and for showing people that it’s never too late to create a life that lights them up. That realization became the foundation of the work I do today, and the reason I’m so passionate about helping others discover the “more” they were built for.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Where are smart people getting it totally wrong today?
What I see many smart people getting wrong today is that they aren’t teaching us the true power of focus. The reality is simple: what we focus on, we get more of. Yet so much of what we’re fed, through media, education, even well-meaning advice, is fear, doubt, and limitation. We are constantly told what might go wrong instead of being shown what we can create.
The truth is, we are creators. Every thought, every attention, every moment of focus shapes the life we experience. We can choose to direct our energy toward growth, possibility, and abundance. We can consciously create life in alignment with our desires, instead of being passive recipients of circumstance. The power has always been within us; we just need to remember it, claim it, and practice it daily.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What are you doing today that won’t pay off for 7–10 years?
Today, I’m writing books that challenge old beliefs, building a body of work that will outlast me, and guiding clients through transformations that ripple into their families and communities. I’m investing in my brand, Leigh Kubin International, LLC, knowing it’s about more than sessions; it’s about creating tools, stories, and teachings that people will still be using years from now. I may not see the full impact for 7–10 years, but I know I’m planting seeds of healing, empowerment, and possibility that will grow into something far greater than I can even imagine today.
