An Inspired Chat with Viviana Arroyo

Viviana Arroyo shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Viviana, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: Who are you learning from right now?
I’m beyond grateful and excited to be learning from an artist, Steven Martinez from SCM Ink. This artist is self-taught and well established. Recently he has changed his position from social media focus to focusing more on education. He created a group called The ERT (Elite Round Table). It consists of artists from all over the U.S. with all skill levels. We have weekly sessions with him and all the mentors who work with him. I’m proud to say I am part of The ERT. I’ve learned how to perfect my tattooing techniques and have been working on building my social media presence with their help. I can’t wait to see how far I go with their guidance and influence!

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Viviana, the Owner & Lead Artist, at Pretty Little Winx & Winx Ink Studio. I am 7x’s certified in specialty services available at my studio. I have been in the Beauty industry for roughly about 6+ years. Recently I created a team to be able to have more availability to service more clients.

As a proud female-owned studio in the heart of Texas, we’re here to empower and inspire. Pretty Little Winx & Winx Ink Studio isn’t just a place to get lashed, waxed, pierced or tattooed—it’s a space where creativity thrives, confidence grows, and community flourishes.

We’re passionate about supporting our local community and creating art that resonates with the bold, the dreamers, and the free spirits who walk through our doors.

Born from my creative vision of a passionate female entrepreneur, Winx Ink Studio is the evolution of Pretty Little Winx—a beloved sanctuary for beauty and self-expression.

What began as a haven for lashes and brows has blossomed into a destination for fine line tattoos, and body piercings, where delicate artistry and individuality take center stage.

I hope to get a chance to create some art with you all! Whether it’s lashes, brows, waxing, tattoos or body piercings – Come see my and my team of creative ladies who just want to pamper you!

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
My son was 6 months old, his father was involved with the wrong type of crowd and his family was no better. We were homeless, living in our car or staying in hotels. He told me it would be better to let someone else take care of my son. We made it as far as the parking lot for Child Protective Services, it was at that moment that shaped my view on the world and how it would impact me and my son.

I walked away with my son in my arms refusing to let the world and anyone dictate that I wasnt enought to take care of my son. I gave up waiting for a man to take care of us and his responsibilities, so I did it myself. Within a month we had a home, furniture and I was working full time.

That moment showed me that life isn’t fair and is hard but if you set your mind to it you can mold it to what you need it to be. Its been 24 years now that I’ve continued on the path of being strong and independent an working hard to create a path I want to walk. I’m very proud of that, because God knows it was not an easy life.

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Resiliance. Resilience isn’t about avoiding pain but rather about developing healthy coping strategies and the strength to adapt and move forward after facing difficulties like job loss, illness, or trauma.

With every struggle I’ve encountered, and there have been many, I’ve pushed through it building that resilience and knowledge to continue bouncing back and building off of it. Resiliency built my success, I wouldn’t be where I am today without having established the resiliency I have through all my life situations.

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Is the public version of you the real you?
I am only the public version of myself; there’s no one else I could be. I don’t dilute my true self—who you see is who I am at my core. I value honesty and directness and have little tolerance for lies or empty words. I openly express my feelings and will go the extra mile for those who truly deserve it. My integrity and honesty are unwavering; what you see is what you get. The way I present myself can vary based on the energy of those around me.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. When do you feel most at peace?
I find my greatest peace when I hold my tattoo machine, listening to the soothing buzz of the needle as I create a permanent piece of art that will become a part of someone’s life forever. In those moments, as I watch the needle deposit ink, everything else fades away, and I am entirely present, fully at peace, knowing I have finally pursued and embraced my dream career.
