We’re looking forward to introducing you to Brennan McGruder. Check out our conversation below.
Brennan, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What battle are you avoiding?
The battle I most avoid is my mental. I stay busy so I don’t sit too long letting my mind wonder. Work has been a good distraction.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi my name is Brennan, I’m the owner of 3 P’s Hookah. It’s a mobile hookah business that goes to different clubs or events and setup and distribute hookahs.
3 P’s sets out to provide excellent hookahs along with an unforgettable experience when smoking hookah. When we started we made everyone rethink hookah when it came to taste. Our hookahs were just different than everyone else’s. I would say that was because we were consumers before and know what is we were seeking when it comes to smoking hookah.
Crazy thing is when I had the idea I was stuck on names and was going to go with Puff Puff Pass and then my girlfriend at the time was like just name it 3 P’s. Whenever I say it I’m just like I’m glad we went with her suggestion because it sounds so much cooler lol!
Right now we’re in the works of expanding to different cities. I’m wanting to bring 3 P’s to Houston, Dallas or SA. Austin has been very good to us.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
Honestly as a kid I always felt that I would be a product of my environment. Everything around me was just there and it was easy to fall into what you see everyday.
As of now, I believe that I was meant for so much more and when the business started it kind of solidified that. As a kid I never dreamed or thought I’d own my own business. How much love has been shown from people when I started til now just shows me I made the right decision.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
You are meant for so much more than you think. As much as you may feel you’re not loved know that you are loved abundantly. Your struggles are not who you are but they are motivation for you to become who you need to be.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. Whom do you admire for their character, not their power?
My sister Brittany is my real life hero. Growing up with her and seeing the fight she had in her was everything to me.
A lot of things could’ve broken her but, she pushed through and overcame. She was the reason I even decided to go to college. She was the first person I called/text when I had the idea of starting the business.
When she said it was a dope idea I knew I was onto something.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
Always! Anything I decide to do I always give it my all, because going at it half cocked has never been my thing. I’ve seen so many times I’ve procrastinated and doubted myself.
I don’t do anything for the praises of anyone else it’s always for me. No one will love me like I love myself.
