Today we’d like to introduce you to Erin Boudreau.
Hi Erin, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I decided to start my engraving business after having my first born son. I wanted to have something for myself and still have the opportunity to make things for him that would be personalized. I also wanted to have a little side job that my husband and I could do together. Once we created the business we realized how much fun it is to being personalized products to people who would truly cherish them. Now we do engravings for any type of project and we are blessed to have the opportunity.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It was a difficult run with me being freshly postpartum and new parents. My son was about 3 months old when we decided to start this business. It was hard with the balance but once we figured out the best strategy for us it became smooth sailing. Also have such supportive parents who were always eager to hang out with their grandchild really helped in giving us the time to start up!
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a dental administrator, but I wanted to have something that was more like me. I love to have my own creative out put. I am extremely proud to have my son and the ability to grow with him while growing my business as well, getting the chance to make personal gifts or to create items for businesses. I strive to have my own ideas to have put out into the world, as well as making other people’s ideas come to life as well!
Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
Don’t get discouraged! My sister in law taught me that you will have to keep going! It might take time to get your right people who will support you and want to have your business. Sometimes might be tough, but it’ll get easier. No matter what you got this!
