Check Out Patrice Campos’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Patrice Campos.

Hi Patrice , please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I initially started my journey in hairstyling because I wanted to understand my own hair and learn how to care for it naturally. As I began learning, I realized so many other people were struggling with the same challenges I had, and that’s what inspired me to turn this into a career. I started working in a salon, where I focused on perfecting my craft, building my skills, and growing my confidence behind the chair. Over time, I realized I wanted more creative freedom and a space that truly reflected my vision and approach to hair. That’s what led me to create The Atelier a place where I can combine education, artistry, and care while helping clients feel confident and understood through their hair.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t been a completely smooth road. Like most stylists, I’ve had to learn everything step by step both behind the chair and in running a business. One of my biggest struggles has been staying consistent with social media. I’m not naturally comfortable being on camera, and learning how to show my work, talk to a camera, and create content has been a whole new skill set for me. There are also seasons where it’s been hard to stay busy or figure out how to attract the right clients, even when I know my work is strong. But those challenges have pushed me to grow in ways I didn’t expect. I’m still learning, still building confidence in that side of my career, and finding my own way of showing up authentically without trying to be anyone else.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I specialize in curly hair, precision cutting, and dimensional color. I’m mostly known for my curly work and helping clients understand and embrace their natural texture in a way that feels manageable and beautiful in their everyday life. What I’m most proud of is creating results that don’t just look good in the chair, but actually work in real life and help my clients feel more confident in their natural hair. What sets me apart is that I’m also a curly girl on my own hair journey. I’ve had to learn, struggle, and figure out my curls just like my clients, and that allows me to truly relate to them on a deeper level. I understand the frustration, the trial and error, and the small wins that come with curly hair, and I bring that understanding into every appointment.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
I want to give credit and deep appreciation to the people who have supported me along the way. First, my family and friends for being the very first to trust me, believe in me, and encourage me to pursue this path even when I was still figuring everything out. I’m also incredibly grateful for my clients, especially those who have been with me since the beginning and have supported my growth and evolution as a stylist. Your trust means everything to me. And to my old team at LMK, thank you for giving me the space to learn, grow, and build the confidence I needed to step into who I am today. Every part of that experience helped shape the stylist and person I’ve become and still becoming
