Check Out Santiago Dietche’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Santiago Dietche.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I was born and raised in Austin and have played music here since around age 15. My dad is a pianist so I always grew up around music, but could never pick up the piano myself. Singing and guitar were always my favorite instruments as a kid and that continued into forming my first band in High School. Over the years I’ve had amazing opportunities to play live all over the country and all sorts of bands

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I like to keep a positive attitude about my career, but no one has it truly easy. I lost my brother in 2021 and my mother 2024 – it definitely put music and creativity in a different space of my mind, but I have been re-approaching it this year now that I’ve had time to grieve and live with that reality. I do wonder if I would have made different choices for my musical opportunities had those things not happened, but they’re a big part of my identity and I am very curious to see how it all manifests in my future projects

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’ve been writing songs under the project, Daphne Tunes since 2016 and also tour and perform with the band Sun June, among other groups. I am a singer and a songwriter primarily, but I love to sing backup for other groups and help find the margins in songs to add a little sparkle here and there. I also manage a local entertainment business called Dart Collective – we specialize in Djs and Bands for private events

How do you define success?
Success for me is the process of trying anything at all. As a generally risk-avoidant person, I find a lot of value in putting myself in situations of discomfort. It’s a success anytime I can try new things
