Our founder’s journey is one of unwavering dedication and pioneering spirit. A Vietnam War veteran, he was among the first in Texas to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Law Enforcement from the inaugural university in the state to offer such a program. His involvement was instrumental in the establishment and funding of this groundbreaking degree.
His career path led him to a senior staff position within the Texas Governor’s Office, where he founded the “Governor’s Crime Prevention Program” and the “Texas Crime Prevention Institute” in 1974. Through these initiatives, he played a pivotal role in training approximately 30,000 Texas police officers, as well as a few hundred police officers from other states and military police supervisors. Today, almost every police force in Texas operates a “Crime Prevention” section, a testament to his lasting impact.
