Community Highlights: Meet Carol Zatt of Marketing Flow

Today we’d like to introduce you to Carol Zatt.

Hi Carol, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
At 33 weeks pregnant, I left Bellingen, a beautiful country town in Australia with a population of around 3,000, and moved to Austin, Texas. I had no idea how much the move would change me. Coming from Brazil, I had grown up with a strong mentality of working hard and building something for yourself. Australia had taught me that same determination, but by the time I found myself living in a small country town, I had also learned what it meant to slow down. Then I arrived in Austin, and the culture shock was enormous. Everything felt bigger, more creative, more colourful and somehow more possible. The streets, the art, the music, the creativity, it sparked something in me that I hadn’t realised had gone quiet.

What really stayed with me, though, was a sense that people weren’t afraid to dream big. I experienced that energy everywhere, from meeting entrepreneurs, creatives and people building things I could never have imagined. Austin showed me a different way of thinking about possibility. It wasn’t just about working harder; it was about thinking bigger, being curious, experimenting and believing that there might be another door you hadn’t even considered yet. For the first time in a long time, I felt that anything was possible again.

That feeling gave me the courage to start creating again. While my baby slept, I started a podcast. I began putting myself back in front of the camera, creating content, teaching others how to feel confident on camera and reconnecting with brands and the creative world. What happened next moved much faster than I expected. My business began to grow, new opportunities appeared and I found myself working with extraordinary people and businesses I had once only dreamed of being around. Looking back, Austin didn’t simply give me new opportunities; it gave me back my sense of possibility. It reminded me to dream bigger, to trust my creativity and to believe that I could reinvent myself at any stage of life. I arrived in Austin 33 weeks pregnant, in a completely unfamiliar city, unsure of what the next chapter would look like. What I found there was not just a new home for a period of my life, but the drive to create a much bigger one.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has definitely not been a smooth road. There have been moments when I questioned myself, had to start again, and wondered whether I was making the right decisions. Building a business while raising children, moving between countries and constantly reinventing myself has required resilience. There were periods when I felt like I had lost momentum or had to rebuild from the ground up. I’ve also had to learn that success isn’t always a straight line, sometimes you grow, then life changes, and you have to find your way forward again.

What has helped me most is learning to see those difficult periods as part of the process rather than evidence that I was failing. Every time I’ve had to start over, I’ve discovered a different part of myself. Moving to Austin taught me to think bigger, but life has also taught me that dreaming big doesn’t mean everything happens quickly or easily. You can have setbacks, uncertainty and moments of doubt and still keep moving toward the life you want. For me, resilience has become just as important as ambition.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Marketing Flow?
Marketing Flow is a marketing, media and management agency helping people and brands reach higher, think bigger and turn their ambitions into opportunities. We work across marketing, media, content, PR, personal branding and strategic management, helping our clients build visibility, strengthen their positioning and create meaningful connections with the audiences and opportunities that can take them to the next level.

What sets us apart is that we don’t just look at where a brand or person is today, we look at where they could go. I believe many talented people and businesses don’t have a lack of potential; they simply need the right strategy, visibility and confidence to unlock it. My role is to help them see that bigger possibility and then build the strategy, story and opportunities to move toward it.

I’m particularly proud of how Marketing Flow has evolved alongside my own journey. I’ve had the opportunity to work with incredible people, brands and businesses across marketing, media, fashion, hospitality, entertainment and creative industries, and those experiences have shaped how I approach the work today. More than anything, I want Marketing Flow to represent possibility and open doors for other people. Whether we’re helping an entrepreneur become the face of their brand, helping a business gain media visibility or managing a larger marketing project, the goal is the same: **help people and brands reach higher, dream bigger and create opportunities they may not have thought were possible.**

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
I think the next five to ten years will be about making marketing more human, not less. AI will continue to transform how we create, communicate and scale, but I believe the brands and people who stand out will be the ones with a strong point of view, genuine stories and the courage to be visible. We are already seeing the lines between marketing, media, personal branding and entertainment becoming increasingly blurred, and I think that will only accelerate. People don’t just want to be advertised to anymore, they want to connect with people, ideas and brands that make them feel something.

For me, that creates an exciting opportunity. I want to continue expanding Marketing Flow globally and reach more people through the work we do, but also through speaking, storytelling and education. I want to keep pushing myself creatively, experimenting with new ideas and staying curious about what is coming next rather than simply following what is already working. I think curiosity is one of the most important skills in this industry.

Ultimately, I don’t want to just keep up with where marketing and media are going, I want to be part of shaping what comes next. My goal is to build a global business that helps more people and brands think bigger, become more visible and create opportunities beyond what they initially imagined. And, just as Austin reminded me years ago, I want to keep surrounding myself with people who believe that there is always another possibility.
