Today we’d like to introduce you to Erica Galia.
Hi Erica, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Looking back, every decision I’ve made feels like a spark, a tiny star lit in the dark. I couldn’t see it then, but those stars were quietly arranging themselves into a constellation. Each moment led me to the next, and none of it was ever a straight line.
It began in the advertising agencies of Chicago, until love, with its electric hum, pulled me west to Los Angeles. There, I became a girl doing a little of this and a little of that: modeling, marketing, even walking other people’s dogs through golden-hour streets. None of it looked like a plan, because there was no plan. But every spark taught me something about people, about story, and about what makes a brand feel like a hand reaching out instead of a voice shouting.
Slowly, I found my place in community curation and brand partnerships within health and wellness. Then as the universe would have it, I met a friend of a client, a birth doula, and just like that, I was falling in love with birth. I trained as a doula and became an advocate for peaceful, supported birth, holding space for women at the thresholds of their lives. That chapter was brief, but it was a needed one because then came my own threshold. Becoming a mother wove every thread together: the brand-building, the community, the birth work, the heart. All along, I had been gathering the material for something of my own.
So I made a universe. The Motherverse is my tapestry, spun from every star that came before it. Here, I bridge mothers and the maternal brands that hold them.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Not even close to smooth, and I wouldn’t tell it any other way.
If my path were a map, it would look more like a scribble than a straight line. There were moves, from Chicago to LA and beyond, each one a leap before I knew where I’d land. There were seasons of financial stress, when the numbers didn’t add up and neither did my plans. And there was a layoff, the kind that knocks the wind out of you and makes you question every choice that brought you there.
In the middle of it, nothing made sense. I remember standing in the dark of those moments, wondering why the pieces wouldn’t fit. Why this job, why this city, why now? I couldn’t see the stars from inside the sky.
But here’s what I’ve learned: the hard seasons were never detours. They were the dark that let the constellation show up. The layoff pushed me toward work that felt like mine. The moves taught me how to build community from scratch, again and again. The financial stress taught me what really matters when everything is stripped back: people, trust, and the courage to begin again.
It all only made sense after the fact, when I turned around and saw the whole picture. Every struggle was a point of light I hadn’t yet recognized.
So no, it hasn’t been smooth. But it has been mine, and it led me home to the Motherverse.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
THE MOTHERVERSE is a world I built for mothers, and for the brands that walk beside them.
I believe motherhood is the heartbeat of the universe, and when mothers thrive, the world flourishes. THE MOTHERVERSE exists to ensure that mothers and the brands that support them rise together, co-weaving a new reality where maternal wellness is not an afterthought, but the foundation of a more radiant, connected society.
What we do
IN THE MOTHERVERSE Substack you’ll find personal essays and reflections from the heart of motherhood, Tried & True, a weekly spotlight on the rituals, tools, and mother-founded brands I trust, and VERSES, short creative recordings that give voice to mothers and those who support them. Beyond the this, I offer:
Partnership strategy and community activations
Event curation and co-hosting
Storytelling and energetic messaging alignment
Collaborative campaigns that center maternal wellness
What I’m known for
Bridging mothers and the brands that hold them. With a background in community curation, and health and wellness partnerships, plus a chapter as a birth doula, I speak fluent brand strategy and fluent motherhood, and I translate between the two with care.
What sets us apart
Relationships come before reach. Offerings are made with purpose, and every moment of connection honors the mother. We see mothers as the epicenter of creation: culture shapers, wisdom keepers, and cosmic conduits. Brands here aren’t marketing to an audience, they’re being held by a community.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
Something you might not know: I’ve been teaching corporate meditation for over six years. And right now, my own sit-down-on-the-cushion practice isn’t as consistent as I’d like it to be. Motherhood has become its own kind of practice, a daily return to the present moment, whether I planned for it or not. What I do know is how much I look forward to sharing meditation with my clients. It connects me to a part of myself that existed before I had children, and I love getting to bring her along.
Also, small and slightly off the rails: I will always say yes to an extra spicy mezcal margarita.
