Hi Esmeralda, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I moved to Texas 2 years ago & for a while I was a stay at home mom. I always had a dream of starting my own business giving me the flexibility to be present for my family & also fulfill my entrepreneurial heart. I have always had a passion for coffee & really enjoyed making it for myself & others.
One day, I was speaking to my husband & mentioned that I wanted to pursue a business in the coffee industry. He was immediately on board & by the end of that day we had syrups, beans, espresso machine, etc. ordered to get me started. As the weeks went by, I kept working on my recipes, trying different coffee beans, & tweaking everything until it was perfect. Soon after I created my business socials & started marketing my business on there. I remember the feeling I had when getting my first order & getting such good feedback. That’s when I knew this was my calling.
My social media was popping & my coffee kinda blew up one day.
I kept growing & realized that being home based was no longer going to be the ideal option.
We started looking for trailers & found the one.
Within a few months of starting my business, I grew very quickly & this is only the beginning.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Running a business always comes with complications along the way. Some that we could never prepare for, others teach you lessons & make you stronger.
We struggled on hiring employees that would be a good fit for our business in the long run. But we also learned many things that would make us a better boss.
We’ve been impressed with Emerald Coffee Co., but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Emerald Coffee established in 2025, is a specialty coffee brand known for its handcrafted lattes and eye-catching, unique cups.
We focus on bold flavors, quality ingredients, and a memorable coffee experience.
Our cups come with a unique green bow that catches the eye of our customers. We love creating new fun drinks as a monthly special.
We believe that serving coffee gives us a chance to bond with our community.
Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
Keep your menu simple, know your costs, and focus on creating a few signature drinks that make your business stand out. Prioritize excellent customer service, hire reliable people with great attitudes, and build systems for training, inventory, and daily operations.
Most importantly, stay involved in your community, price your products profitably, and remember that longterm success comes from consistency, strong systems, and loyal customers not just great coffee.
