Community Highlights: Meet Jenn Vigh of Aer Pilates

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jenn Vigh.

Hi Jenn, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve been doing silks for over 11 years. I started Pilates mid way through my experience with silks as a way to rehabilitate my back injury (herniated disc in low back). Pilates quickly became my number one way of getting out of pain and I fell in love with it! This passion for both Pilates and silks led me to quit my job and travel for a few years to teach this combination globally in Australia, the United Kingdom, Europe and Costa Rica. I’ve decided to anchor down in one city for a while and opened my own semi-private studio, called Aer Pilates where I focus on the foundational benefits of Reformer Pilates and mat Pilates as well as the excitement and play that aerial silks brings.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Most doors in the Pilates world have opened up to me in a way that has felt mostly destined and effortless.- which reinforces how much I feel eternally led to this field. I’d say the challenge along the way up until settling in Austin has mostly been housing fluctuations. I lived in London prior to coming back to Austin and moved 7 times in one year which took a toll on my mental and physical wellbeing. While I originally had planned to start my studio abroad, the open doors in Austin led me back to the states! Since coming back about a year ago, things have been exciting and successful in so many ways! The most challenging parts of founding my own small business so far have honestly been finding the right team members to help me grow. Since my studio is very niche in its approach and offerings, it takes a certain desire and skill set to match it. I am slowly finding the right people to support our growth but it has taken some time.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Aer Pilates?
AER Pilates is a women-owned boutique Pilates and aerial studio redefining how women connect to strength, confidence, and control—both on the ground and in the air. We specialize in Reformer Pilates and aerial silks, blending the precision of Pilates with the freedom and challenge of aerial training to create deeply functional, empowering movement experiences.

What sets AER apart is our intentional focus on women’s bodies across every stage of life. Many fitness spaces overlook the realities of pregnancy, postpartum recovery, pelvic floor health, hormonal shifts, hypermobility, and chronic pain. AER was created to bridge that gap by offering training that prioritizes biomechanics, deep core connection, and sustainable strength over extremes or burnout.

The AER Method is informed by advanced education in sports therapy, years of international teaching, and lived experience healing from injury. We’re known for helping women rebuild trust in their bodies, regain confidence after pain or setbacks, and accomplish things they once believed were out of reach—whether that’s moving without discomfort or confidently taking flight in aerial silks.

What we’re most proud of is the community we’ve built. AER is more than a studio—it’s a space where women feel supported, challenged, and empowered. Our classes, workshops, retreats, and educational offerings are designed to help women move with strength, intelligence, and joy in every season of life

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I don’t believe in luck in the traditional sense. I believe in being blessed—and in responsibility. The moments that have shaped my life and business weren’t random; they were opportunities to grow, learn, and realign, even when they arrived through challenge.

Some of what others might call “bad luck,” like a serious spinal injury, became a blessing in disguise. That experience slowed me down, forced me to listen to my body, and ultimately led me toward Pilates, deeper study in biomechanics, and a more intentional way of moving and teaching. Without it, AER wouldn’t exist in the form it does today.

What I consider blessings have often shown up as people—mentors who shared their knowledge, clients who trusted me with their bodies, and opportunities that arrived when I was willing to say yes, even before I felt fully ready. Those moments weren’t accidental; they were the result of preparation, discipline, and a willingness to do the work behind the scenes.

I believe we’re blessed when we’re given challenges that refine us and communities that support us. Building AER has been less about chance and more about stewardship—honoring the experiences I’ve been given and using them to create something meaningful. That perspective keeps me grounded, grateful, and deeply committed to building a brand that serves women with integrity, intention, and care.
