Community Highlights: Meet Madelene Sears of Make with Madelene

Today we’d like to introduce you to Madelene Sears.

Hi Madelene, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started out studying nutrition and dietetics in college and went on to complete 500 hours of yoga teacher training in the years after graduating. Throughout my career as a holistic nutritionist I’ve taught cooking classes, worked one-on-one with clients through nutrition counseling, provided chef services for retreats and events, and developed recipes for local cafes – al rooted in a love for balanced, nourishing food.

Currently, my focus is on offering private chef services for postpartum moms, retreats, and intimate gatherings. I also create healthy protein bites and baked goods that are sold in a few local Austin retailers.

Living intentionally has completely transformed my life, and I’m grateful to share what I continue to learn along the way. My background in nutrition and dietetics, paired with a dedicated yoga practice, has deeply shaped my approach to wellness. These practices have helped me cultivate a deeper sense of self-love, and it’s my joy to pass that on through my offerings. I strive to support both myself and my community in healing and living vibrantly.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I think starting a creative business on your own is challenging for anyone — especially when you don’t come from a business background. No one in my family is in this field, so I had to figure a lot out on my own. I’ve leaned heavily on my entrepreneurial besties to guide, support, and encourage me along the way. They reminded me that this is something I can do, and helped me stay grounded and motivated when things felt uncertain.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that, especially in the beginning, you have to treat your business like it’s already a full-time job. You have to show up for it daily, take your work seriously, and stay open to growth. And as much as advice can be helpful, I’ve also learned how important it is to tune into your gut. When you’re building something creative and personal, only you truly know what feels aligned. Learning to trust myself and my vision has been a huge part of the journey.

Still, that journey is made so much richer with support. I’m beyond grateful for the friends and mentors who’ve guided me, believed in me, and helped me turn those gut feelings into real momentum.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
My business, Make with Madelene, is centered around organic, vegan, and gluten-free meals that are both deeply nourishing and balanced. As a nutrition-informed chef with a background in dietetics and yoga, I approach food with a holistic mindset and I believe that nutrition is the foundation of health.

I’m best known for my private chef services — especially for postpartum moms, retreats, and intimate events — as well as my high-protein bliss balls and baked goods, which are sold at a few local Austin retailers. I also offer meal prep, which is designed to take the stress out of eating well and make healthy, intentional food both accessible and enjoyable.

What sets Make with Madelene apart is the quality and integrity behind every offering. All ingredients are organic, gluten-free, and locally sourced when possible. I care deeply about using brands and products that I trust and would eat myself. Every meal is crafted with intention — not just to taste good, but to leave people feeling good.

I also value bio-individuality. I believe everyone’s body is different, and I take that into account when creating meals for clients. Whether it’s customizing ingredients or adjusting flavor profiles, my goal is for each person I work with to feel seen, supported, and nourished in a way that truly works for them.

At the heart of Make with Madelene is the belief that food should be joyful, healing, and rooted in self-care. When we nourish ourselves intentionally, everything else flows from there — energy, clarity, confidence, and connection.
