Today we’d like to introduce you to Monica Herrera.
Hi Monica , so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Honestly, I just wanted to create cool videos. This all started as a hobby in effort to develop my skills as a videographer within the world of music and live entertainment. With limited experience I knew I couldn’t do this alone – I had the creative vision but didn’t know how to bring it to life. So, I started STAGE 14; an online project page to begin connecting with other local creators. Audio engineers, lighting techs, actors, musicians, directors, you name it. I quickly realized others creators we’re in the same boat as me – a vision of their own and no where to take it. We’ve helped changed that.
Since forming, STAGE 14 has become a community hub for all types of creatives and is now followed by hundreds online.
STAGE 14 gives creators the chance to attend local events, collab on projects, and most importantly meet other creators. What started as a way to simply connect with others has blossomed into something much greater than originally anticipated. We now partner with a variety of creatives and brands in Austin to host and showcase some of the city’s coolest events.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Definitely not a smooth road! From forming a business, to learning website design, and budgeting new expenses; I’ve had to tackle a lot of the entrepreneurship start-up journey too. Having the right people in your corner helps a lot though and I’m so fortunate to have met so many incredibly talented people along the way, generously offering their support.

STAGE 14 is an immersive entertainment experience for creatives and fans. We focus on intimate live events that build community and real connection. No upgrades, no platinum badges, no ticket increases, just pure artistry and raw talent.
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
I’ve always been drawn to the arts. Growing up, I remember constantly singing and dancing in the living room to musicals during family movie nights. I joined choir at a young age and went on to pursue acting. STAGE 14 was later formed in effort to dive deeper into a few passion projects and since forming, has become something much greater than I ever imagined.
