Community Highlights: Meet Rachel Luna of Patriot Title

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rachel Luna.

Hi Rachel, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
As a young girl from Texas with big dreams, I got myself into different jobs before. You know, a girl’s gotta do what a girls gotta do. And I have always been a goal-getter. My grandma taught me to live life and take risks, and I will always cling to that.

The turning point for me was right after college. I was given the opportunity to work with a Houston-based homebuilder, worked my ass out, became the youngest number one salesperson, and got inducted into million-dollar clubs. After that, it opened a lot of opportunities for me. I was tapped by the title company of the builder I worked for, took the risk, and it paid off.

I always share this story with everyone, but I really just want to tell them that if you want to succeed in whatever career you want, you always have to be ready when an opportunity comes. If it comes, grab it with both hands. Work hard in silence, and let your success be the noise.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The journey wasn’t easy for me at all. As a woman and as a person of color, I face a lot of giants along the way. And given the fact that I started from scratch, I had to crawl myself up to a place where I could get opportunities. Real estate is a fast-paced and fiercely competitive industry. That’s why if you want to stand out from your competitors, you need to establish trust, build credibility, and persevere.

I’ve also had my fair share of fallouts, just like any other business entrepreneur out there. One of the biggest struggles was testing out the waters. As someone who started from scratch, you will never know what comes next, and so dealing with uncertainties and making huge decisions was challenging as it could lead to either a breakthrough or a setback for both the company and the team.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Patriot Title?
I am working in the title industry and have been working with our clients for years now. I am proud to say that our company mainly focuses on educating our clients about title insurance and helping them secure the biggest investments of their lives. As a seasoned professional, I find it important to have connections with different people, whether they are my business partners or friends. Knowing them better is one of my top priorities in order to build a strong relationship with them.

Right now, I am focusing on expanding my connection and extending my voice outside my scope. I built my branding with a goal of uplifting business entrepreneurs and making an impact on other people’s lives and these days, it makes me so happy that I am actually making a change and empowering others, especially women who are slowly taking space in this industry. Brand wise, I am proud of the vision I had before that is now turning into reality.

We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
Every person and business needs a little spice to keep everything light and interesting. The title industry is a fast-paced industry with an incredible amount of detail involved in our day-to-day functions and due to its complexity, title and escrow professionals like me are perceived to be too serious and intimidating when in fact that is the very opposite of me.

And so, when I meet my clients, they are surprised to see the other side of me, the one who is easygoing and comfortable to be with. I always try to be a ray of sunshine to everyone and sprinkle some fun in our workplace. The real estate industry is already a very antiquated and tough industry to be in, and I want myself and my team to enjoy and love what we do. And you can only do that if you radiate positivity to others.
