Conversations with Brittany Fox

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittany Fox.

Hi Brittany, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I didn’t become a photographer because I love gear or gadgets. I became a photographer because I grew up in a family that documents moments and cherishes people.

My dad had the home video camera out constantly, capturing everything from birthday parties to backyard shenanigans to sweet everyday dance parties. My mom made sure everyone felt seen and celebrated. Together, they taught me that memory-making isn’t about big poses or perfect outfits. It’s about showing up, being present, and turning ordinary moments into something unforgettable.

That’s what I try to capture behind the camera—human sunshine. The warmth you feel sitting around a table with your family. The way your brother makes you laugh so hard you can’t breathe. The ease of being fully yourself with the people who love you most.

I started B Fox Photo to photograph families and grads across Bee Cave, Austin, and surrounding areas of Central Texas because I’m someone who deeply cherishes people. Connection has always been at the center of what I do. Whether it’s witnessing giggles between siblings, sharing a meal with old friends, or quietly observing joy unfold in real time, I see every photo as a chance to bottle up something honest. Something human. Something worth keeping.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Photography has always been a passion of mine and turning that passion into a business has come with a few learning curves. Figuring out the backend of running a business—things like marketing, workflows, client experience—has taught me many new lessons. However, it’s also been fun to learn what works, refine what doesn’t, and find better ways to serve the people who trust me with their memories. I’m grateful for every step of the process.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a family and grad photographer based in Bee Cave, serving Central Texas. I shoot with natural light and a lot of curiosity and am always chasing the moments that feel the most real from the belly laughs to the shared glances and everything in between.

My style is lighthearted, playful, and honest. I’m not here to force smiles or choreograph your life. I’m here to document it—just as it is.

What I’m most proud of is when clients tell me they felt comfortable in front of my lens and that the photos actually feel like them. That’s the goal every time: to make people feel at ease enough to be themselves, and then to bottle up that feeling through photos.

I think what sets me apart is how much I truly care. I’m not just taking your holiday card photo. I’m helping you hold onto a season of your life. The quiet moments and the loud ones. The milestones and the mundane. I want you to look back at your photos and feel something—not just see it.

Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
When starting out my biggest piece of advice is to find community. Building a business can be quite isolating and it’s really nice to find others who are in that same season of life in addition to those who are where you’d like to be in 5 or 10 years. This allows you to be able to relate with others and to get advice when needed. I also suggest befriending other creatives and seeing what you can dream up. Sometimes it’s really nice to collaborate on a project you’re excited about and it can be a great way to recharge your creative battery.
