Today we’d like to introduce you to Carrington MacDuffie.
Hi Carrington, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’ve been a songwriter all my life and also developed a career as a voice actor. I create a lot of music videos and other video content, and I’ve also published a lot of poetry over the years. I’m a recording artist and touring musician, I tour in Europe and the UK (when possible). It made sense to put all my endeavors under one umbrella, so I formed my LLC, LunacyDewPoint Entertainment Group.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
There have been smooth stretches and many bumps both large and small. I’m off-the-charts independent, and finding the money to float this whole operation has been one of the bigger challenges. The rigors of touring are no joke! I have a great team though, ranging from musicians, audio engineers, video editors, photographers, promotional teams to tax accountants, and a good team makes all the difference!
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a singer/songwriter, an indie pop artist. I play a custom electric ukulele, which is unusual, and my songwriting is also considered unusual. I’m known on college radio in the US and on radio throughout the UK for my distinctive vocals and catchy songs. My videos are also considered top notch, very creative and high quality. The lyrics of my songs are catchy but also highly intelligent and this combination is kind of rare for pop, even folk pop or Americana, which are genres I’m sometimes categorized in. I have a channel on YouTube that is robust with content. One of my most recently posted video has gotten well over 200,000 streams.
There aren’t many pop artists who are also voice actors. As an award-winning voice actor, I’ve narrated over 250 audiobooks and also voiced characters in video games.
What does success mean to you?
I think the greatest form of success is being present in the moment and choosing and experiencing happiness without relying on conditions.
