Hi Erin, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hello,
I’m Erin Jantz, BSN, RN
I can remember back when I was a little girl playing nurse, diagnosing ailments and treating my family with my life saving sweet tarts. Apparently, they were my cure all for just about everything. I have always wanted to be a nurse since I was four years old, and I truly believe caring for others is my calling in life. Over the past 18 years, I’ve had the opportunity to work in Interventional Radiology, Surgery, and other areas of nursing that have shaped me both personally and professionally.
As my career evolved, I fell in love with the aesthetic world of nursing and discovered a different way to care for people. To me, it’s about helping people feel great and confident in their own skin. I believe healing can happen in many different ways, and it’s reflected when my clients leave the spa glowing and smiling; that makes my heart smile.
That passion motivated me to start building something of my own right here in my hometown Victoria, TX: Seven Roses Medical Aesthetics. Starting my own business has been exciting, intimidating, and has come along with its own challenges. This new journey has allowed me to bring together my love for nursing, aesthetics, and helping others full circle. Today I am independently partnered with June Skin and EllieMD to expand the services and options I can offer to my clients.
I believe I’m exactly where I am meant to be. I am proud of the journey that brought me here, and I look forward to continuing to learn, grow, and make a difference in the lives of the people I care for.
Nursing has always been about more than a career; it has been a long-life childhood dream. It’s about a calling, a passion, and the amazing opportunity to build something of my very own while continuing to do what I’ve always loved: helping people.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
One of my biggest challenges has been balancing my full-time nursing career at the hospital while building Seven Roses Medical Aesthetics in the evenings, being a mom to two busy teenage boys, having time for my husband, and caring for all my farm animals. Some days are long, taxing, and there just isn’t enough time in the day, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. Building a business and balancing family life takes dedication, patience, and even failing at times. I am here for it and vow to continue growing, learning, and taking all the failures as learning opportunities.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am most proud to watch my boys see that it’s okay to chase your dreams, do something different, even when it seems impossible, at a busy stage of life, or maybe the timing isn’t right. I want to show them that with hard work, faith, and perseverance, you can continue to grow and pursue something meaningful at any stage of your life. I decided to do this right in the middle of a full life, with a career, a husband, and two boys. Hopefully they will take away that the beautiful thing is you don’t have to wait for life to slow down or for the perfect opportunity to pursue your dream.
Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I have never considered myself to be one of those people who are just “lucky”. Quite the opposite. I believe you must take any opportunity presented and start creating your own path. Being a nurse for over 18 years is a big part of who I am. Starting Seven Roses Medical Aesthetics has been a dream come true and a new chapter for me, but it hasn’t come without challenges.
I still happily work full time at the hospital, run my spa in the evenings, and balance being a wife and a mom of two teenage boys. Each day has its own challenges and can be utterly exhausting. I believe if something is worth pursuing you will find a way to keep working towards it and make it your reality.
I am grateful for the opportunities that have come my way and firsthand understand how much hard work goes on behind the scenes to build something special. This is not pure luck or being lucky; this has been pure dedication and hard work. I am thrilled to see where this new journey will lead me.
