Hi Kara, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’m Kara Ballard, co-owner at Gallery 11. I’ve been part of the jewelry industry for over 20 years. My husband and I met at a jewelry store over ten years ago. We worked together and ended up going on a karaoke date. After that, we were inseparable. Chris has been a jeweler for over 18 years and has worked for several jewelry shops. It had always been a dream of ours to have our own shop.
Would it have been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Getting open took lots more effort than we’d anticipated. We had some issues with our building, and it took us much longer to open than we’d originally hoped. We’re happy to say it’s been much smoother since we opened.
Let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
At Gallery 11, we have over 15,000 carefully curated crystals and minerals. We like to hand-pick everything that we sell. Chris specializes in jewelry repair and custom jewelry design. We offer FREE basic jewelry cleaning for all your gold, silver, and platinum pieces. If you have jewelry that needs to be resized, we can help. We also make custom beaded bracelets at the shop. We are very proud to offer 5-star service.
