Conversations with La’Nora Shorts

Today we’d like to introduce you to La’Nora Shorts.

Hi La’Nora, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My family and I started into making soap and other home remedies when I had a my 1st born son 2016. He had really dry skin that turned into eczema then we went on to have another son and his skin was even worse so thats when I said enough is enough I have to do something, so I started with breastmilk soap and it worked! My husband said to me let’s make this a business because you know what you’re doing and we could help others. We started selling soap in 2021. To help adults and children with their skin sense we all know that our skin is the biggest organ and we have to protect it.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s been bumpy just due to other people selling soaps that have chemicals so their colors maybe more vivid and that can harm the immune system and our soaps are to protect the skin. We use all natural colorants from fruit and veggies and essential oil

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m focused more on making body butters, lip balms and hair oil . At the moment I specialize in making unique soap that protect the skin. I’m known for my herbal soaps and for knowing a lot about certain remedies for healing. I’m proud that I can teach my children about nature, remedies & health too and how these things work. What sets me apart from others is that I actually care and with me it’s not about making funds or being known it’s really about helping people especially people of color understand the importance of it and how it will help our health due to the skin being our biggest organ.

Who else deserves credit in your story?
My husband is my mentor, my greatest supporter, my advocate and him and our children are my teammates.
