Conversations with Millen Haile

Today we’d like to introduce you to Millen Haile.

Hi Millen, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I can seriously write a book about my life LOL! Hello: My name is Millen Haile I am from Eritrea (East Africa) I came to the US when I was nine years old. My parents made the difficult decision to leave their home to provide a better future for my siblings and me, instilling in me a deep appreciation for the value of education and the importance of perseverance. As the eldest child, I learned early on how to carry responsibility, a trait that has defined my professional life.

From 2016 to 2020, I operated my own wedding coordinator business. Following the pandemic in 2021, I launched the “Millen’s Occasions Podcast.” After few years, my business manager suggested we rebrand the show to “Millen’s Occasions Talk Show.”

The show is dedicated to empowering entrepreneurs and small business owners by highlighting their journeys, challenges, and successes. Hearing the stories of how my guests built their businesses inspires me deeply, and I am confident that sharing these narratives will inspire others to persevere as well.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Starting or maintaining a business inevitably comes with challenges, but I believe those obstacles are exactly what push us to work harder. Throughout my journey, I have faced significant hurdles, and there were times when life circumstance forced me to take a necessary break. During moments when I felt like quitting, I found inspirations in my parents’ resilience. My mother worked tirelessly as a housekeeper, and my father ran his own restaurant; I never once heard them complain. Their example taught me to persevere, and I have kept going just like them.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a storyteller and media personality, and the proud host of Millen’s Occasions Talk Show. My journey has been defined by stepping out of my comfort zone to do what I love most-highlight the incredible stories of entrepreneurs and business owners. With a natural ability to connect across cultures, I bring a unique, relatable perspective to every conversations.”
