Today we’d like to introduce you to Erin Williams.
Hi Erin, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Born with the creative bug in Austin, Texas. I went on to win the D.A.R.E award for best essay in elementary school. While attending Reagan High School, I used beauty services to continue to explore my creative abilities. Years later, I am now a published Author, Master Cosmetologist, Herbalist, and owner of a small vegan hair care & cosmetics company.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Of course, I’ve faced challenges, being homeless and feeling helpless. The beauty industry can be tricky; some months are awesome for your business, and others will make you doubt all the blood, sweat, and tears you’ve sacrificed.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a creative. I am known for inspiring people through thought-provoking creative expressions.
I am most proud of my literature.
I believe my thoughtfulness is what sets me apart from others.
Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
Mentoring, I would advise them to do their research, set a plan for you and your business. Find someone in the same industry offering mentorship or just reach out. You’d be surprised how many of us are willing to give advice and coaching. Consistency, consistency is the key. Show up for yourself, take a few hours to continue working on your goals. Allow yourself to be open to change. Remind yourself that just because it’s not happening right now doesn’t mean it’s never going to happen for you. What’s working for me? Focusing on myself and my dreams.
