Daily Inspiration: Meet JahleelFaReaL

Today we’d like to introduce you to JahleelFaReaL.

Hi Jahleel, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started off producing music almost ten years ago to the date. I didn’t have a clue what I was doing but I had a lot of support from my peers at the time. They gave me tons of advice and creative influence. Becoming a musical artist was never really on my mind I always wanted to be behind the scenes. Although my production was pretty good and getting me around the city (Houston) at the time, I still didn’t feel like my production was being accented with the right style and lyrics. So I took it upon myself to turn my then poetry into music and showcase it myself. I was blessed with an opportunity to tour with a popular R&B artist at the time by the name of J. Long, alongside acts such as Webbie and Travis Porter then shortly after spent two years in South Korea essentially in “artist development”. Once I returned to Texas in 2013, I landed in Austin and took my music to the streets, built a name for myself and never looked back. Ever since I have been elevating my game time after time to where we are now.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I don’t think any road to success is going to be smooth. There is a ton of “No” and just people blowing you off and crushing your dreams in general but my mind set is to always keep going. If you poke at something long enough eventually it’s going to give. My message to any one reading this is to never quit and always invest in yourself because no one else will.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a plethora of things .. musician, artist, producer, creative. I specialize in the flow of rhyme and scheme and creative great musical energy. I am known for and probably most proud of just being myself, JahleelFaReaL. Being an original in an industry full of “clones” is a rarity to come by in music. It’s what makes certain musicians/artist special. I pride myself in that.

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
What matters most to me is being able to always create my music/art freely. It matters to be heard, it’s what we do it for. It matters to me to feel the crowd’s energy every time I hit the stage, that energy is a part of what keeps me going.
