Today we’d like to introduce you to Tino.
Hi Tino, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started photography back in college 14 years ago. I began by taking a photography class so that I could learn how to use a camera. I’ve always been adventurous and loved the outdoors and traveling so I wanted to document every trip I took in a creative way. I would take my camera with me everywhere I went and loved capturing every moment along the way. After several years, people began asking me to take their photos, and though I was nervous at the time, I began doing so for free. After some practice, I began charging a small fee.
For the past 10 years or so, I began collecting more photography equipment I thought would improve my photos: lighting, backdrops for studio portraits, etc.
I love becoming a better photographer so I’ve studied every year through Google searches, YouTube videos and even bought books from barns and noble to enhance my learnings of photography.
Today, I work with many clients from business owners, sports teams, weddings and quinceañeras and have been extremely proud of myself for becoming a well rounded photographer where I can capture great photos in any atmosphere.
The greatest accomplishment is that I have been able to deliver exceptional work to my clients where they have been so grateful for their photos. It means the world to me to make others happy and I do so through photography.
I hope to continue this passion of mines of capturing peoples greatest moments and sharing my work with the world.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has definitely not been a smooth road. I’ve come across many challenges throughout my career. From the beginning of trying to learn how to use my camera, learning about lighting, posing, composition, and many other things, I had to practice a lot and teach myself all the skills that come with photography. I’ve been discouraged many times and almost gave up doing photography all together. There were so many times I just couldn’t get the photos the way I wanted. Even learning Photoshop and Lightroom were challenging where I just didn’t know how to edit the photos well. But, I didn’t want to give up. I worked a full time job during most of my photography career until I learn enough to let my job go and do photography full time. Even though I’ve learned a lot, I love to continue learning more styles to, some day, become great.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a photographer who loves doing portraits with beautiful landscapes. My specialty is doing studio and outdoor portraits as well as events, such as: weddings, quinceaneras, birthdays and corporate events.
Im most known for portrait photography. I love being creative with peoples photos. I love sharing my ideas of how we can use certain lighting and effects to create jaw dropping photos.
I’m most proud of learning lighting. Lighting can really make a photo look unique and artistic when used correctly. Lighting has also been the most challenging part of photography so mastering lighting is a huge accomplishment for me.
Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
I would say to choose one style of photography and practice until you perfect it. There are many different types of photography and practicing them all can become confusing and discouraging. Focusing on one will help you stay focused and continue wanting to do photography.
