Today we’d like to introduce you to Wolf Trax.
Hi Wolf, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Wolf Trax started in March of 2025 when Josh Field put out a call for musicians to form a band rooted in the blues. We started rehearsing some songs, and by May of 2025, we were out gigging.
We’ve had some lineup changes along the way, but the core of the band solidified with Josh Field, Brandon Carroll, and Tim Hudgeons. As we learned each other’s strengths, we refined our sound to lean more into blues-rock and funky grooves. At this point, we’re locked in and gigging consistently, playing about once a week.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t been a completely smooth road. Our main struggles have just been the usual things: finding the right musicians for the lineup and getting booking people to call us back. Lineup changes take some time to sort out, and getting venues to respond is always a challenge, but we keep at it because it’s too fun not to.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We are a band that specializes in funky blues-rock grooves. We are known for solid musicianship and having an energetic frontman who acts as the party leader for the crowd. What sets us apart is our high-energy approach to our song choices. We pick material that keeps people having a good time, ensuring they are not only enjoying the music but having fun dancing and partying at the same time.
So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
What matters to us the most is making sure the crowd is engaged and having fun. There is nothing better than seeing people out there dancing, singing along, clapping, and cheering. We want to help people shake off the stress of the workweek so they can just go out and enjoy their weekend, and knowing we helped them have a good time is what it’s all about.
