Danette Falltrick of Round Rock on Life, Lessons & Legacy

Danette Falltrick shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Good morning Danette, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What makes you lose track of time—and find yourself again?
The biggest thing that makes me lose track of time and truly find myself again is doing some kind of craft. It can be anything — from picking up a wooden butterfly cutout and painting it on my back patio, to spotting a DIY Dollar Tree Halloween project on social media and suddenly finding myself turning laundry baskets into cages for creepy skeletons. I just really love using my hands and making things come to life.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Born and raised in Southern California but now a true Texas girl at heart, I bring a creative, fun, honest — and just a tad zany — energy to everything I do. I absolutely love connecting with people and helping them feel great about themselves.

My specialty is hair color, and over the years I’ve earned the nickname “The Color Guru.”

I approach every client with a blend of artistic vision and emotional intelligence. I take the time to get to know you — your personal style, how you communicate, and how you want to express yourself — then design a look that feels authentic and amazing. My artistic eye and attention to detail show in every cut, color, and finish, reflecting not only my precision but my deep love for the craft.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
My earliest memory of feeling powerful was when I was about 12 years old. I had been playing softball since I was 8, and from the moment I picked up a glove, I was hooked. I loved everything about it — the smell of the field, the crack of the bat, the energy of being part of a team. That year, I made the all-star team, and I’ll never forget the rush of pride I felt. Standing on first base, glove ready, knowing my teammates were counting on me — it lit something inside me. Every solid hit, every play that helped us win made me feel unstoppable, strong, and completely in my element

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
You’re enough

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Is the public version of you the real you?
Mostly

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: If you retired tomorrow, what would your customers miss most?
My clients would miss the genuine conversations we share and the consistency I bring to every appointment.
