Exploring Life & Business with BriAnna Garza of Shooters Shoot LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to BriAnna Garza.

Hi BriAnna, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
In October of 2021, I started Shooters Shoot LLC on my front porch in Phoenix, AZ as a T-shirt brand. I had been in general player development as a college and private-sector coach for a few years, and I knew I had a knack for teaching shooting. In fact, I just so happened to go to grad school for Sport Psychology, Skill Adaptation, and Instructional Design. (as it turns out, I accidentally got a Ph. D. in how to teach someone how to shoot a basketball.)

So after being let go of what I thought was my dream job… I open up my laptop, and at 11pm at night (and 111 degrees outside), I flipped a figurative table and decided to build something out of thin air.

In the years to come, “The audacity of self-belief.” wasn’t just a tagline on a tshirt, it was one I lived by // a phrase that carried me through the inevitable hardship that entrepreneurship demands.

So I set out to do it differently. I studied not just the science, biomechanics, and physics of shooting… but I did so through the lens of a teacher — not just a technician.

Fast forward to December of 2022, about a year into creating Shooters Shoot—I had a choice between buying a home and paying a mortgage or going all-in on the business and hiring a team (and paying them fairly) WAY before any of the “business people” would have advised… so I chose the latter. But in choosing my team over a mortgage, and understanding that needed somewhere to live with as little rent as possible—I signed up on a Trusted Housesitting website, and for the next 1500 days or so (until August 2026), I bounced from state to state, country to country, housesitting and dogsitting for rich people while they went on vacation… building my business, my brand, and a worldwide community—exactly wherever my feet landed.

Here are some highlights from that span of ~four years:

-Run 100+ clinics in 32 states and 6 countries.
-Launched the Shooters Shoot Training App and became the highest-ranked basketball training app in the App Store
-Founded a nonprofit- the Changing The Game Foundation – and through it, ran the first completely women-led coach and player development conference at the 2024 Women’s Final Four
-Also through the nonprofit, developed the Shoot Like A Girl campaign, where we run free all-girls clinics stateside and overseas in places that lack resources and representation in girls’ and women’s basketball.
-Launched a AI Shot Breakdown technology, that allows anyone in the world to get a breakdown on their jumpshot, as well as a free 7-day plan in my app custom to their needs
-Developed the only shooting coach certification in basketball — used by pro, college, and youth coaches
-Leaned all the way into my mf business lady era

After planting my feet in Austin, Tx this Fall, I’ll be leasing the very first Shooters Shoot Austin Facility/Gym. To open in the Spring of 2027 🙂

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Being a woman in a space dominated by men can sometimes cause some friction, but the most difficult part (and the most rewarding) was investing 5 years into being the lowest paid person in my company. Trusting the growth and the people around me to get where we are… there has been some messy in-betweens. Sacrificing time with my family, potential relationships… there has been a cost. But I wouldn’t change a damn thing 🙂

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?

Coach Certification Programs

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
Youth coaches in every other country must be certified in 30+ hours of training before they can even *volunteer*. I believe this is why the American game is falling behind — coaches at all levels in the US will have to be credentialed to be hired at most levels of basketball.

Shooting as a needed proficiency in players is not going away. A proficiency in TEACHING shooting is going to be a must
