Today we’d like to introduce you to Constance Roberts.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I was a “latchkey” kid who grew up on the streets of Northeast El Paso, Texas in the mid. 70s; where I found “love” at the age of 15, then gave birth at 16, at 18, I married into an abusive situation, left finally escaped the marriage with 3 sons (the youngest was 2 months old and nursing) I went to the woman who gave birth to me, although she let me move in to her house I had to pay rent and she refused to help watch my kids nor allow me to use her extra vehicle (she let it rot in the back yard) so I walked frim hiuse to house asking to clean them 2 years later, I eventually got a car and corporate job which had me managing 63 sales people. I joined the Rotary Club and got involved in the community, shortly there after I was elected into a State office, then appointed as a State Commissioner. 12byears later, I started my own corporation, building Custom homes, small hotels etc. which has been operating now for 20 years. My next step is to seek funding for my 501c3 to help others build a home, and provide options for teenage pregnancy.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Never smooth, the challenges were mainly trying to feed my kids with no support then trying to stay positive with the people around me “family” (lmao at the word) trying to break my spirit with criticism and major back stabbing with the intent to sabotage my efforts, they would calls to my political opponents with information about my troubles as a teenager, after many failed attempts to sabotage my career and relationships I had to completely cut them out of my life
As far as political challenges, where do we start?!
The challenges in the construction world mainly centered around being a 5 foot 100 lb. feminine female entering the male dominated “world of construction ” whom had to earn the respect from the men in a man’s world.
However, my brain will always see the challenges as opportunities to thrive.
