Today we’d like to introduce you to Ellisa Mimlitsch.
Hi Ellisa, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
From a young age, I was always drawn to people—listening to their stories, sensing their emotions, and helping them find ways to cope even before I knew what “therapy” was. I was that person who could strike up a meaningful conversation anywhere—the grocery line, a produce aisle—and somehow end up helping someone navigate life’s challenges. My intuitive nature has always been my compass; I don’t just hear what people say, I feel what they mean. Through my third eye and energy awareness, I’ve always been able to connect deeply with others and sense what isn’t being said.
But my path to becoming a psychotherapist and holistic healer wasn’t easy or predictable. I was born during a time when my mother was battling cancer and going through chemotherapy, leaving me severely malnourished as an infant. That fragile beginning led to a childhood marked by cognitive impairments, learning disabilities, and chronic health issues. I struggled with reading comprehension, math, and social anxiety, often feeling like the black sheep—different, misunderstood, and unsure of my place.
My mother was my greatest advocate. She taught me how to stand up for myself, understand my accommodations, and never let my diagnosis define me. Despite the challenges, I persevered. I battled bullying, illness, and the limitations others tried to place on me, ultimately earning a master’s degree from New York University—something no one expected from a child once labeled as “impaired.”
Through it all, my intuition and empathy were my guiding lights. What I once viewed as weaknesses became my greatest strengths. I realized that my sensitivity and insight were gifts—tools I could use to heal others while continuing to heal myself. Every struggle shaped the therapist and healer I am today: one who sees beyond words, beyond pain, and into the energetic truth of those I help.
My career began not in a classroom or clinic, but in the quiet moments of connection with others—those small exchanges of understanding that reminded me of my purpose. Today, as a psychotherapist and holistic practitioner, I bring that same intuitive compassion into every session, helping others transform their pain into empowerment—just as I have done throughout my own journey.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My journey has been filled with both hardship and healing. I was born during a time when my mother was fighting cancer and undergoing chemotherapy, which left me severely malnourished as an infant. That fragile beginning led to early cognitive impairments, learning disabilities, and chronic health challenges that made childhood an uphill battle.
School was never easy—I struggled with reading comprehension, math, and social anxiety. I was often bullied and felt like the black sheep, unsure where I fit in. My body was frail, my immune system weak, and my spirit was constantly being tested.
Beyond those challenges, my childhood and young adulthood were also marked by emotional, verbal, physical, and sexual abuse. These experiences left deep scars but also shaped my understanding of human suffering in ways that no classroom ever could. For years, I lived in survival mode—navigating fear, confusion, and the silent pain that comes from being misunderstood and unheard.
But within that pain, I discovered strength. My parents, despite their own struggles, taught me to advocate for myself and never stop believing in my potential. Over time, I learned to transform my trauma into wisdom, using my intuitive and empathic abilities to help others find safety and healing.
I now recognize that everything I endured—every illness, every tear, every moment of fear—was also shaping the healer within me. My struggles gave me compassion, my sensitivity gave me purpose, and my intuition gave me direction. Today, I use those same gifts to help others move from pain to peace, just as I have done throughout my own journey.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
What should we know? What do you do?
I’m a licensed psychotherapist and holistic healer, and the founder of Therapy By Ellisa and The Rejuvenation Vibe Room in Leander, Texas. My life’s work centers on helping people heal emotionally, mentally, and spiritually—through a blend of traditional therapy and alternative healing practices. I believe true healing happens when we address the whole person—mind, body, and energy—not just the symptoms.
What do you specialize in / what are you known for?
I specialize in individual and couples psychotherapy, trauma-informed and shame-informed care, and integrative holistic therapies that include Reiki, guided meditation, hypnotherapy, and vibroacoustic sound therapy. I’m also known for creating safe, non-judgmental spaces that honor people from all walks of life—including those in alternative lifestyles such as kink and BDSM communities. My work is about teaching real-world skills and self-regulation tools while nurturing emotional connection, intimacy, and inner peace.
What sets you apart from others?
My approach combines clinical training with intuitive healing. I don’t just listen to what clients say—I tune into what they feel. I use my intuitive abilities and energy awareness to sense what’s happening beneath the surface, helping clients uncover what’s often unspoken. My practice is also very experience-driven; I integrate sound and energy work into my sessions to help clients calm the nervous system and access deeper healing states.
What truly sets me apart is my own life story—overcoming learning disabilities, trauma, and health struggles has made me a deeply empathetic and grounded guide. I don’t approach healing from theory; I approach it from lived experience.
What are you most proud of brand-wise?
I’m most proud of how The Rejuvenation Vibe Room has evolved into a local sanctuary where people can truly “Feel Better, Naturally.” It’s not just a wellness space—it’s an experience. Every detail, from the Himalayan salt booth to the InHarmony Sound Lounge and calming tropical aesthetic, was created to help people disconnect from stress and reconnect with themselves.
I’m proud that both my brands—Therapy By Ellisa and The Rejuvenation Vibe Room—reflect my authenticity, my compassion, and my mission to make holistic healing accessible to everyone in my community.

Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
Yes. My life has always been defined by passion, perseverance, and purpose. From an early age, I immersed myself in a wide variety of activities—piano, violin, cheerleading, gymnastics—but it was horseback riding that truly captured my heart. I spent nearly ten years as a competitive equestrian, training and showing almost every weekend. My two horses, Lucky and Frankie, were more than companions—they were my teachers. They taught me discipline, patience, love, and the meaning of commitment. When my beloved grandfather passed away just months after I purchased Frankie, I poured all my emotions into riding. Those horses carried me through some of the hardest seasons of my youth, and their loss years later felt like losing a part of myself.
By the time I turned 21, I had already endured multiple knee surgeries and broken ankles—injuries that ultimately forced me to step away from the sport. Yet, that discipline and dedication never left me. In high school, I discovered another outlet for my creative and expressive side—ballroom dancing. I fell in love with the movement, rhythm, and connection of Latin dance, and continued dancing competitively throughout college and graduate school.
Unfortunately, during graduate school at NYU, I entered an abusive relationship with someone who appeared respectable on the outside but was controlling and emotionally manipulative behind closed doors. The abuse was subtle at first—jealousy, isolation, cruel words—but eventually became frightening and violent. I reached a breaking point one night when I truly feared for my life. With the help of my parents and now husband, I escaped that environment with barely any belongings and began rebuilding my life from scratch.
It took years to heal, both emotionally and physically, but that experience changed me. It deepened my empathy and strengthened my mission to help others find their voice, their boundaries, and their inner strength.
In time, life brought me something beautiful. A colleague who had also gone through heartbreak became a trusted friend, and later, my husband and business partner. Together, we built The Rejuvenation Vibe Room, a space rooted in healing, peace, and love. He is my rock, and our partnership is a daily reminder that love built on respect, kindness, and shared purpose can heal even the deepest wounds.
Everything I’ve lived through—every fall, heartbreak, and triumph—has guided me to where I am today. My story isn’t just about survival; it’s about transformation, resilience, and turning pain into purpose.
As a person and as a professional, I love bringing color and lightness into everything I do—whether it’s through vibrant clothing, bold shoes, or unique earrings that make people smile. My clients often say I’m funny, and I embrace that fully. Laughter is healing, and life is far too short not to wear something silly or to take ourselves too seriously. Humor, like color, brightens even the darkest days—and both have a place in my practice and my life.
Everything I’ve experienced—every challenge, every joy—has shaped me into the healer I am today. My story is one of transformation, resilience, and the belief that no matter how heavy life feels, there is always light waiting to be found..
