Today we’d like to introduce you to Lucero Valle Archuleta.
Hi Lucero, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My parents are artists and entrepreneurs with a studio portrait business as well as camera gear shops throughout North Mexico. Things have changed a lot since then; when they started, they were using film and darkrooms to realize each print individually. I inherited their love for the visual arts, photography in particular, and small business! While I earned my degree in Product Design, my love of lighting and visual representation has led me to move in the direction of helping professionals and businesses create their perfect shots! I geek out on photography and the stories that it can tell. Austin drew me in ten years ago for a quick trip to help a friend with her wedding that turned into a love affair with this wonderful city. I have found a wonderful community here that has welcomed me with open arms. I am most proud about having built a successful woman-owned photography studio where I get to work with amazing professionals and local brands that I love.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Curious at heart, I am always looking to learn new things. Some of my other hobbies include metalsmithing, sewing, fashion styling, cooking, and gardening. Most recently, I’ve been learning finance and business – while I prefer endeavoring on the creative side of things, I’ve come to find that these things critical to my success, which I define as a work-life balance, enough business to keep going on my entrepreneurial journey, and plenty of time to spend with my son, Alejandro. He is, without a doubt, the greatest motivator in my life and a source of great inspiration. Ale was born without half of his left hand, the “lucky fin”, as we call it lovingly. His grace and strength amaze me every single day. You can see this handsome, funny, and charming young ZZ Top fan all over my Instagram page.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Lucero Creative Studio?
While I have plenty of experience working on portraits – which typically focus on creating a memory or documenting an event for the family archives, I have a great passion for commercial photography. A commercial photographer works to capture and produce high-quality images of products and people for commercial use. Whether it’s headshots, eCommerce products, social media or website content, marketing, or advertising, we work with the company or client to tell their story visually. The greatest compliments I get come when my clients call me back later to tell me that their new visuals have been helping them get more conversions on ad and website traffic, attract new customers and sell more products. When it comes to business, I learned not to settle for anything less than the best. So it is important for me and my team to manage the production process from end to end: from scouting locations, hiring models, and choose appropriate props to post-production editing, touch-ups, and delivery of the final images to be published. So much more goes into the final product that simply photos.
New challenges excite me, and I love to provide professional, quality content that’s more than just an “ordinary shoot.” The client journey always starts with a questionnaire to help define the scope and budget for the project so we can create a plan for success with the best results within the time and budget constraints. No two projects are alike – and that is why it is so important to discover what is the best for each of my clients.
