Hi Mithila, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Hello everyone, my name is Mithila Patki. I was born and raised in Mumbai, India. I practiced dentistry for a few years in Mumbai before I met my loving husband and then settled in Austin with him. I have always had a dream to have my own dental office. I was determined to practice dentistry in a way that helps patients get over their fear around dental work.
After extensive training and a bunch of credentialing exams, I finally got my license to practice dentistry in Texas around 2017. I worked as an associate dentist in and around Austin only to realize a stronger need to create an environment where patients can relax and not get afraid of getting dental treatment. Also, as a mother of two little munchkins I was eager to have work life balance that is difficult to achieve in any healthcare field.
Dazzle Dental is my dream dental office that is carefully designed to address dental anxiety and create a warm, welcoming, relaxed environment for anyone seeking oral health care. We opened our doors in August of 2024 and have been going strong since then. We are conveniently located between 183 and Parmer on Anderson Mill Road here in North Austin. Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The journey was interesting. Full of learning experiences! As a foreign trained dentist my path to practicing clinical dentistry was not very easy. From getting my dental license to getting funded for the start-up, the construction itself and then to get functional and running- everything had its own ups and downs. I was blessed to have found some amazing mentors and wonderful friends on my way who guided me. And of course, my family- my husband, parents, and kids- who always supported me throughout. But to sum it up it is a beautiful journey. And it only continues towards a better tomorrow!
