Today we’d like to introduce you to Mollie Musgrave.
Mollie, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My journey into fitness began as a varsity athlete, but as I entered adulthood, I lost that connection, gained weight, lost my sense of self, and found myself searching for the strength and confidence I once knew. Having someone guide me back to feeling healthy and strong was one of the greatest lifelines I have ever received, inspiring me to become that same source of guidance, strength, and hope for others. Working through a major injury further transformed my perspective, teaching me that true wellness is not about constantly pushing harder, but about listening to your body, prioritizing recovery, and building strength with intention.
These experiences became the foundation of my Modern Human Method, which combines science-backed training, intentional nutrition, and whole-body wellness to create a balanced, sustainable approach to health. Today, my mission is to help others reconnect with themselves, discover their strength, and build habits that support them both inside and outside the gym. I believe wellness is not about punishment or perfection, but about treating your body with the care it deserves and understanding that, with the right guidance, there is always a way forward.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
One of the most transformative chapters of my wellness journey was overcoming a major injury that forced me to slow down, step back, and completely rethink my relationship with fitness. As someone who had always associated strength with pushing harder, I had to learn how to approach movement differently, rebuild my foundation, and be patient with a body that could no longer do everything it once could. Relearning how to train, recover, and care for myself challenged me physically and mentally, but it taught me that progress does not always look like doing more. Sometimes, the greatest strength comes from knowing when to slow down, listening to your body, and trusting the process even when the road forward looks different than you imagined.
This experience reshaped the way I view fitness and ultimately became one of the most valuable lessons I bring to my work as a personal trainer. I learned that our bodies deserve to be treated with intention, respect, and care, and that wellness is about so much more than intense workouts or physical appearance. True strength comes from building a strong foundation, prioritizing recovery, nourishing your body, and finding balance in the way you move through life. Today, I carry these lessons into the Modern Human Method, helping others understand that they do not have to push themselves to their breaking point to achieve meaningful results. Sometimes, the path to becoming stronger begins with learning to do things differently.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about The Modern Human Method LLC?
The Modern Human Method is my personal approach to fitness and wellness, built on the belief that taking care of your body should be both intentional and fun. I love getting creative, thinking outside the box, and beating to the rhythm of my own drum to create a training experience that feels different from the traditional approach to fitness. I specialize in blending three science-backed styles of training to build strength, improve mobility, and support cardiovascular health, alongside nutrition guidance and a holistic approach to recovery and whole-body wellness.
My philosophy is simple: there is no one-size-fits-all approach to feeling your best. I believe in challenging your body with purpose, nourishing it with intention, and giving it the recovery it needs to thrive. The Modern Human Method is about finding what works for you, creating sustainable habits, and building a relationship with movement that extends far beyond the gym. Fitness should be empowering, creative, and something you genuinely enjoy, because the goal is not just to build a stronger body, but to create a healthier, more balanced life.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
I was born with hip-dysplasia and hyper mobility that lead to all of my injuries. It is a huge reason why I have taken control of my body.
