Hidden Gems: Meet Laura Ivy Blessing of Blessed Life Group, Keller Williams Realty

Today we’d like to introduce you to Laura Ivy Blessing.

Hi Laura, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Before real estate, I was an athlete. I played Division 1 volleyball at Texas State on scholarship, and we had an undefeated season. That’s where I learned a team with a clear plan and a lot of reps beats talent alone. I’ve been building teams ever since.

I got my license in 2004 and learned the business at Pohl Brown and Associates under Bill Pohl. In 2009 I moved to Keller Williams, and in 2013 I became a broker. Along the way I co-founded a team called Living Austin Realty, which RealTrends named to “The Thousand” in the Wall Street Journal in 2016.

When that partnership ended, I rebuilt under a new name, Blessed Life Group. The name is personal. I’ve been widowed and divorced, both while raising young kids and running a business, and I came out the other side grateful. I wanted the company to carry that.

Since 2004 I’ve been part of 752+ transactions. Today our team helps buyers, sellers, investors, landlords and tenants, and we manage rental homes for local owners. I also coach other agents through Blessed Life Coach, mostly on building simple systems so their business doesn’t run their whole life.

I love what I do. I believe in becoming a master of your craft, and now I enjoy running my team and also coaching and teaching other agents.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No. The hardest stretch was personal. I lost my husband in 2006, later went through a divorce, and through all of it I had young kids at home and clients counting on me. Real estate doesn’t pause when your life falls apart. Some weeks I showed homes all afternoon, then figured out dinner and homework with nothing left in the tank.

The business had hard moments too. Ending a partnership meant starting over with a new name, a new brand and a smaller team. And this market has tested everyone in our industry. Homes take longer to sell than they did a few years ago, and sellers need a lot more guidance.

What got me through every time was the same: a plan, people I trust, and showing up on the days I didn’t feel like it. I’m also a big believer in systems. If something only works when I’m personally holding it together, it isn’t a business yet.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Blessed Life Group is a residential real estate team with Keller Williams. We help people buy and sell homes across the Austin area, help investors buy and run rental properties, and manage rentals for owners who don’t want to handle tenants and repairs.

What sets us apart is the work we do before a home ever hits the market. We do real pricing research, we tell sellers the truth about what buyers are seeing, and we update them every week on what’s happening in their neighborhood. A lot of agents go quiet once the sign goes up. We do the opposite.

We also use technology and AI behind the scenes so clients get faster answers and nothing falls through the cracks. The whole point is to free up more time for talking with people.

I’m proud of the recognition. RateMyAgent named us a Top 3 Team in Texas and a Top 100 Team in the United States in both 2025 and 2026, and named me Cedar Park Agent of the Year for 2025. We’ve also been named to the Top 500 Austin Real Producers in 2024, 2025 and 2026. But what I’m proudest of is the team. Dianne, Rebecca, Lauren, Chrystal and Shea care about our clients like family, and I get to watch them grow.

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
Most people are surprised by how much of my own technology I build. I set up the AI tools and systems that run our business, and now I teach other agents how to do the same. I didn’t expect to love that side of the work as much as I love helping people find a home.
