Hidden Gems: Meet Taylour Bogdan of Bogdan Agency

Today we’d like to introduce you to Taylour Bogdan.

Hi Taylour, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I lacked a sense of purpose and fulfillment after I graduated with my associate’s degree and couldn’t find a job within my specialties. So I returned to school and graduated with a BA during the pandemic. I still received no callbacks with two degrees, experience, and a network. So when I came across Sarah Turner’s Write Your Way To Freedom copywriting course, my writer’s heart jumped. And I’m so thankful I leaped! This path has allowed me to explore what freedom looks like, find my purpose, and welcome life’s redirections. When I want something, I’ve learned to be open with myself by asking, “Why do I want this,” “Will this bring joy into my life,” and “How proud of myself will I be if I make this choice.” Today, I have my own copywriting business, work as a proposal writer for a company, am a freelance model, and am writing my first book. Betting on myself has been the most terrifying decision and the most rewarding. The world has an immeasurable amount of paths to choose from, and I’m glad I chose to live a creative life. I’m exceptionally proud of the opportunities living a creative life has granted me. I’m in alignment with who I am, explore new places, and nourish healthy relationships. I’m thrilled to see what other opportunities I discover in the coming years.

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I’ve experienced many challenges along the way.  I struggled with my mindset when I started, and it caused a lot of obstacles in my business. I had fears of failing, wondering if I was talented enough, and a lot of self-doubts. This led to me taking bad advice and making big mistakes. Reading books and listening to podcasts about mindset work has taught me how to manage these thoughts and feelings when they’re kicked up. These experiences have made me more self-aware about my anxiety, a stronger business owner, and more passionate about putting good into the world.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next, you can tell us more about your business.
I help conscious business owners build a dignified brand through storytelling. I immensely enjoy working with business owners passionate about humanity and the environment. I’m so proud of the good my writing services put into the world and the opportunity to impact my local community positively. I’ve been told that my passion, seeing the bigger picture, and empathy set me apart from others.

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
Some of the things I love about Austin, TX, are:

  • Many breweries, distilleries, and coffee houses hire local bands to play for their guests, while others have weekly trivia. This is a wonderful way my friends and I get together during the week; we always have fun going to St. Elmo’s or Radio Coffee & Beer.
  • I’m thrilled with Austin’s many outdoor activities, like festivals, swimming at Barton Springs or Lake Travis, hiking the numerous trails, and trying new foods at the food truck parks.
  • My favorite thing, though, is how personable the people are. You can converse with people you’ve never met before, meet for coffee the next day, and soon after; they’re joining your friend group for trivia.
