Today we’d like to introduce you to Cyndi Hopkins.
Hi Cyndi, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Reinvention has been a constant in my life, and I see it as one of my superpowers.
I grew up in Houston in a family of entrepreneurs and Fortune 50 professionals—my grandfather founded Kelly’s Foreign Cars and worked as a body man, so creativity and grit were part of everyday life. My parents both excelled in corporate careers, and I earned a degree in economics from the University of Texas at Austin. Over the years, I’ve followed a winding and fulfilling path—from owning an antique store in my 20s to leading product development and supply chain initiatives at a Fortune 50 tech company.
As my career evolved, I became the go-to for friends and colleagues—whether it was rearranging furniture, designing their outdoor gardens, styling a mantel, or hunting for the perfect piece at Round Top. Design has always been my passion, and after years of following other paths, I found myself right back where I started—with fresh eyes and a clear purpose.
Founding Cyndi Hopkins Design was both a return to my roots and a bold step forward. Today, I work with clients across Austin and the Hill Country, helping them create homes that feel deeply personal, highly functional, and richly layered.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Of course, the road hasn’t been smooth. Reinvention rarely runs smoothly. I had built a successful career leading multi-billion dollar initiatives in a Fortune 50 company, where the leadership team trusted my expertise and relied on my vision. Leaving that behind me to start something entirely on my own was both exhilarating and humbling.
I went from managing global programs to selecting stone slabs, designing custom cabinetry, and styling every detail down to the accessories on the cocktail table. From leading large teams to wearing every hat myself. The work became more personal, the wins more meaningful, and the learning curve steeper than I ever expected.
There were moments of doubt, especially stepping into an industry where I didn’t follow the traditional path. But I trusted my instincts, leaned into my creativity, and let the work speak for itself. Those challenges didn’t just shape my business, they shaped me. They taught me how to build with intention, lead with heart, and design a life that feels as layered and intentional as the spaces I create.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Cyndi Hopkins Design is a full-service interior design studio based in the Texas Hill Country, serving Austin, Georgetown, and beyond. I specialize in high-end residential interior, full-home furnishings and new construction to major renovations and landscape integration. My work is rooted in creating timeless, livable spaces that blend thoughtful functionality with quiet luxury.
What sets my studio apart is the balance of vision and execution. With a background in corporate leadership and a Project Management Professional (PMP®) certification, I bring clarity, structure, and diligence that ensures each project runs smoothly from concept to installation. Clients trust me not only for my eye, but for my ability to manage complex design projects with professionalism and care.
I’m known for richly layered interiors that feel personal and refined. Whether incorporating custom millwork, artisan finishes, or heirloom-quality upholstery, I approach each home as a unique expression of the people who live there. My aesthetic leans timeless over trendy, always tailored to the architecture and the story of the client.
Brand-wise, I’m most proud of the trust I’ve built. My clients know they’re in good hands. They feel heard, understood, and guided—not overwhelmed. That kind of partnership is rare, and it’s something I prioritize deeply.
At the heart of Cyndi Hopkins Design is a belief that luxury isn’t about excess. It’s about intention, quality, and creating spaces that make people feel truly at home.
How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
The best way to work with me is to start with a quick discovery call. Whether you’re planning a renovation, building a new home, or just ready to refresh a space, that first conversation helps me understand your goals and see if we’re a good fit.
I offer full-service interior design, which means I’m there from the early planning stages through final installation. I also collaborate with architects, and builders to make sure everything works together seamlessly.
If you’re curious about working together, the easiest place to start is through my website or Instagram. And if you just love design, following along or sharing my work with someone who does is always a great way to support what I do.
